The thin 7mm height, low heat generation, reliable solid-state design drive make it ideal for all applications, from desktop PCs to the ultra-thin notebooks.
From the manufacturer
The flexible and economical SSD upgrade that’s backed by Corsair
Force Series LS features SATA 3 6GB/s support for optimal performance with the latest systems, and it’s backward compatible with SATA 1 and 2 for maximum compatibility. The thin 7mm height, low heat generation, and solid-state reliability make it ideal for everything from desktop PCs to the latest ultra-thin laptops.
Compatible with SATA 2 3Gb/s
Haven't yet moved to SATA 3? Like all Corsair components, Force Series LS SSDs are designed to last through several system upgrades. Adding a Force Series LS today means that you'll still get fast and dependable storage performance now, and your SSD will be ready for your next upgrade.
7mm height for broad PC and laptop compatibility
Force Series LS has a height of 7mm, so it will fit into newer ultra-slim notebooks and laptops.
Corsair SSD Toolbox
Corsair SSD Toolbox is our exclusive software for managing your Corsair solid state drive and maintaining its performance. It's a free download for owners of Corsair SSDs, and it works under Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8.
Force Series LS SSDs feature support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.
Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for laptops.
Cool and quiet, with low power consumption
Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.

Windows 7 Starter boots in under 10 seconds from the Windows 7 logo appearing to the logon screen. In fact, it's so fast that the Windows 7 logo barely appears. Bearing in mind that the HP Mini has a SATA2 interface, here at the Crystal DiskMark 5 benchmark results with default settings:
Read: 269.9 MB/s
Write: 121.1 MB/s
Read: 73.11 MB/s
Write: 57.96 MB/s
Read: 201.1 MB/s
Write: 99.41 MB/s
Read: 6.065 MB/s
Write: 6.111 MB/s
As you can, it's pretty much saturating the SATA2 port. Compared to other similarly priced SSD's from Crucial, Intel and OCZ, the 4K results of the Corsair are not as good but it makes up for this with much better write speeds.
Overall recommended if you need a good quality budget SSD to speed up your system.
Due to my desktop being a few years old now I only have SATA2 connections on my motherboard, which can apparently throttle the potential maximum read speed of SSD drives (whereas SATA3 wouldn't), so I was a little worried that I might be spending this money only to not see much benefit. However, I can happily report that my computer now runs PLENTY faster - windows starts up in the blink of an eye, and logging in is just as fast. Programs also load noticeably quicker as well. I am very happy with this SSD and recommend it - and you will see noticeable speed increases even if you connect it via a SATA2 connection.
I can't comment on the longevity of the product obviously, however if it does explode or anything I'll be sure to come back and edit my review!
It was very easy to install, even though I don't have it fitted with a bracket to fit it properly inside the larger HD bay, it fits well on one side.
I was going to use CloneZilla (CZ) to clone my original OS but as CZ takes an exact copy, 120GB was not big enough. I had to reinstall my OS from scratch, but that was no problem as it installed at lightning speed.
If I was given the choice of buying another one, I would in a heartbeat, just a bigger size next time.
