Highly recommend this for any space, science and history lovers out there. This series does a great job at mixing the three together in a great way (there little cartoons are great!). I will admit, some of the episodes didn't appeal to me, but they all in some way were able to get my mind going, thinking about the Universe. Some of it was thought provoking and deep. It's great.
I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone! And Amazon got it to me in about 72 hours :) Great service!
Produced by Sagan's widow and collaborator, Dr. Ann Druyan, and Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane, who was instrumental in getting the new series to air, and hosted by Sagan protege Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey wonderfully explores who we are and where we are in the universe with every bit of enthusiasm and powerful gravitas as the original.
Augmented by movie quality special effects courtesy of Star Trek alum Brannon Braga, stellar animation by Kara Willow, and awesome music scores by composer Alan Silvestri, the series conveys its concepts brilliantly in a way that is totally up-to-date and accessible by today's more visually sophisticated audiences.
Worth every penny, especially in high definition on Blu-Ray with some great special features, any fans of science, our environment, or indeed any critically thinking person should find this engaging.
It was like taking a trip to the planetarium, which I love visiting the one we have here at McMaster University. For only $5 you can learn about the system we live in and beyond.
Even though space is the main topic, the show focuses on Earth too. It shows us why we are the way we are and tries to show us how it all began. That's no easy feat when even science is not quite clear on it.
I can't get enough of this series and am glad I can watch it again and again.

Excellent tribute to the subject and to original Carl Sagan's series. Well written, well rendered. Includes and excellent "Pale Blue Dot" Sagan's conclusion on episode 13. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Jean-Francois Rajotte
