Product Description

From New York Times and Amazon Bestselling author who brought readers DADDY'S HOME and MOMMY,MAY I? comes a conspiracy thriller that you won't forget.

When the most vulnerable of society fall prey to the powerful behind the scenes unspeakable acts occur--including murder.

Dr. Kelly Morales is troubled by the deaths of three pregnant women who die within a week of one another inside the emergency room of County Hospital in East Los Angeles--all three women were homeless, minority and died in suspicious ways. Hours after Kelly attempts to question her colleague pathologist Dr. Jake Hamilton, he is found murdered and Kelly is high on the suspect list.

A cryptic e-mail is sent to journalist Georgia (Gem) Michaels insisting she look into the brutal slaying of a San Diego County family in 2008 that was chalked up to The Mexican Cartel. The e-mail also insists she keeps an eye on her neighbor. At first, Gem thinks the e-mail is nothing but a joke, but her gut tells her that maybe checking out her handsome but odd neighbor is worth her time.

Terrorized and brutalized chemist Dr. Ryan Horner is being held against his will. He knows that if he does not do the bidding of a group who call themselves The Brotherhood that the lives of his wife and children are at grave risk.

Detective Tony Pazzini is the lead detective on Dr. Hamilton's murder investigation and what he begins to unravel along with Kelly is a shocking web of lies and murder that find themselves questioning those in high positions in Washington D.C. The closer they find themselves getting to the truth, they also find there may be a spark between them. When Kelly is forced to go on the run, Tony is determined to find her before it's too late.

As the ante is upped, these characters' lives become intertwined, finally colliding as a race against good versus true evil rapidly ensues. Dr. Kelly Morales, Gem Michaels, Dr. Ryan Horner, and Detective Tony Pazzini search to uncover the truth and expose it behind the deaths and murders that make up Project Covert Reich.

Note: This book contains explicit language and graphic violence.

“Covert Reich is a taut thriller of good versus evil, right versus wrong and the fight of a lifetime to determine which side will come out on top.” Lori Gondelman of Best Reviews and http://www.lorisreadingcorner.com

HASH(0x9d57ed2c) out of 5 stars great book, abhorrent subject Dec 21 2011
By C. Williams - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Ack! Almost had my review finished and accidently deleted it. For the second time...

At the beginning of this story, I wondered if I could get through it. There was just such a horrible, bloody scene at the start. But I did get through it, and though the story deals with a truly abhorrent eugenics plan, I did really enjoy it.

There were more than a few points of view, but they were done SO well, and the voices were so different, I thought it added immensely to the story. They start out unconnected, and as the story moves along, they weave together and become entwined in a really natural, believable way. The conclusion is perfectly built, no need for a deus ex machina here.

The romance between Dr. Kelly Morales and Detective Tony Pazzini is really nicely done. Loved the other stories of Dr. Ryan Horner and Gem Michaels. All the characters were so well developed, it was a joy to read.

I love to read a tightly woven suspense story like this. In spite of the subject matter, and loss of many lives, I really enjoyed this book.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a review I was happy to give. I have enjoyed every book by this author that I have read, and heartily recommend all of them.

HASH(0x9d57ed80) out of 5 stars Crowded cast of characters Sept. 6 2012
By K - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
What happens when a bigoted zealot with dreams of racial purity has the money and resources to make his goals a reality??? Covert Reich is a thought provoking scenario of just how that might be....

When the story started, I was immediately gripped by the fast pace in the hospital scene and the intrigue surrounding the murder in the morgue. (Ooh, there's a title for you: Murder in the Morgue! Sorry....) I was quickly distracted, though, by the major cast of characters that come into play throughout the story. The cop, the doc, the dead doc, the nurse, the former special ops, the scientist, the nephew, the psychopath, the janitor, the wife, the journalist, the henchman, etc. Granted, they were all connected, and they were all relevant to the story--I just felt that there was too much time spent developing these characters and once you had them flushed out, bam! End of book! The slower pace of exposition gave way to faster than rapid plot wrap up.

On the positive side, the book was entertaining. Just enough of a realistic threat of this occurring again in modern history to make it nauseatingly realistic. We, as a society, would like to believe that people like this don't exist. That there aren't such prejudicial motivations for all aspects of life (medicine, politics, etc.) Only the reality is that there is no utopia where all are welcome, and some people will stop at nothing to obtain their goals. The concept behind the novel was excellent, and highly enjoyable to read. I could easily see this as a movie script (with a demotion of some of the fleshed out characters to minor roles).

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my review.

HASH(0x9ec6f1d4) out of 5 stars OK Read... Jan. 20 2013

Take a dash of romance, a bit of medical thriller, dose of intrigue, conspiracy, "pure race" bigotry and fairly slow paced story line and you have Covert Reich. I read this book based on the many 5 star reviews, and am wondering if we read the same book? It contained a cast of dozens....way too many characters, I did not find it to be a page turner, just an OK read.

HASH(0x9ec6f1bc) out of 5 stars Another Good Read from Alexander Feb. 27 2012

REVIEW - COVERT REICH

Having previously read Daddy's Home by A. K. Alexander, I looked forward to reading Covert Reich. I was pleased to see that Alexander has again written a book that keeps the reader wondering what will happen next. References to politics make it seem very current, as well as references to reading on one's Kindle, which made me smile. Yes, there was extreme violence at the beginning, but I seem to be offended by extreme violence only when it is in the movies. The best part of the book was the fast-moving plot, followed closely by the well-drawn characters. My only complaint would be that I find that having one of the bad guys just happen to live next door to the reporter who is pivotal to the plot seems to be a little too much of a coincidence, not to mention the fact that that same bad guy just happens to be related to a potential presidential candidate who also is part of the plot.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it, but I probably would have purchased it anyway and will read another book by this author.

By loves to read - Published on Amazon.com

I have not read any other books by this author, and I did not have a preveiw to go of off. So I was not sure what I would find when I started reading the book. I liked the book it was well written and connected all the main characters. The story has murder, romance, politics, conspiricy, and doctors on the take. Young women are coming into hospitals in labor, they look and act like they are drugged up.During delivery the women are dying and the babies are born dead. Nothing shows up in their blood work, whats killing these women and their babies?? The answer may surprise you. While reading this book I kept thinking that something like this could actually be tried and it scared me a little. I was given a free copy of this book in order to review it.....By Loves to read
