A Short Story. Horror. Frankie, an architect downgraded to building surveyor by the downturn after 9/11, finds himself on a job in downtown Buffalo. He must prepare updated floor plans for a huge abandoned building. The old school building seems to come alive, as the sounds of the cold wind howling through broken windows keep Frankie thinking he is not alone. Approaching the end of his task, he suddenly finds himself trapped deep in the guts of a dark, desolate maze. Frankie will have to crawl through mud, and fight against some unexpected enemies, to find his way out of this trap and cheat death.

HASH(0x9ecc51b0) out of 5 stars 3.5 Stars; Creepy Short Story March 11 2014

This is a well written tale about a man who becomes trapped in a crawlspace beneath an old building and his struggles to get out. The writing is strait forward and pretty well done, the characterization is good (considering how short the story is) and the story builds suspense as it progresses.

*Possible Minor Spoilers Below******
What has prevented me from rating this higher was the fact that no explanation was given for why he got trapped to begin with. Who put the access panel back on and replaced the bolts? That's what I was hoping to find out, sadly the ending did not provide me with the info or the closure I was hoping for.

Since I found no typos I will round my rating up to 4 stars.

Recommended for fans of psychological horror.

Not recommended for claustrophobic or squeamish readers.

This short story is very reminiscent of Bukowski. It is humorous, riveting, and bone chilling all at the same time. I can't wait to read some of the authors other works.

Is a claustrophobic tale.
I enjoyed it.
I recommend it to architects and everybody who enjoy short readings.
I will read another book from the author because I liked the way of writing.

I enjoyed reading this story, it was slightly panic inducing if I allowed myself to imagine that I was in the situation. I thought it ended rather abruptly though and would have liked to read more.

Dang! Now that's a creepy story! I really enjoyed it...well written with good characters. If you like horror stories, but not a lot of bloody gore....than I recommend this one!
