Product Description

When his best friend and fellow Navy SEAL, Evan Prescott, died in his arms on the battlefield, Logan Kincaid gave his word to watch over Evan’s widow. But for two years he kept his distance…torn between honoring his solemn vow and succumbing to his secret love for his fallen comrade’s wife. But when Dani Prescott desperately reaches out to Logan for the help only he can give, he rushes to her side—determined to fight for her safety as fiercely as he fights against his own buried desire.

Someone claiming to be her husband is stalking Dani and her infant daughter, making them virtually prisoners in their remote country home. Logan’s elite military training and high-risk security expertise have outmatched more dangerous enemies. But the real challenge will be the burning temptation that threatens to overcome Logan whenever Dani is near…especially when she reveals her own hidden passion.

About the Author

A native of Florida, Sandra Owens once managed a Harley-Davidson dealership, before switching from a bike to an RV for roaming the open road (though she’s also chased thrills from sky-diving to upside-down stunt-plane flying). In addition to Crazy for Her—a 2013 Golden Heart Finalist for Romantic Suspense—her works include the Regency Romance novels The Letter and The Training of a Marquess, winner of the Golden Claddagh Award. A member of Romance Writers of America, and potential cat owner, she lives with her husband in Asheville, North Carolina.

HASH(0xa36cdc84) out of 5 stars Romance/Suspense and a SEAL!!! Aug. 2 2014

I loved it. Slow start with a plot similar to other SEAL stories I've read with an honorable man suffering survivors guilt but very quickly that was a moot point as the story evolved into a very original one and a hero in Logan, a man who overcame almost insurmountable odds to become more than could ever have been expected. I loved the characters and the story. A heroine who is oh my a wonderful change from poor girl meets rich man. Surprising twists and turns that kept me reading and wondering what? who? what? and finally an ending that wasn't cliche happy ending but perfect instead. This is a great read and I look forward to the following books in the series. There is nothing boring in this husband had to eat canned soup simply could not put down the book until I reached the end.

What a wonderful story, it has everything-romance, honor, mystery, romance and romance. Logan is the perfect hero, working through his past and learning how to love. This book is for anyone who loves an exceptional love story, with a good dose of suspense.

Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase about twists and turns. one moment you're laughing, next your heart is in your throat. there's something for everyone; romance, humor, suspense and action. I think it's a love story on many levels....the love of a mother, a widow, a friend, and much more. twists and turns throughout, but you cheer every step of the way. not your stereotypical SEAL romantic suspense. I fell in love with the baby girl and her hysterical antics. I can only hope there will be more books to come in this series!

3.5-3.75 RATING- I'm a little torn on how to rate this book. The beginning started out very strong and I really liked the premise, widowed military wife must call on ex SEAL Commander (and dead husbands best friend) when she becomes stalking victim...yep, this book had my name written all over it.

I will admit the hero's hot and cold act in the first half of the story got old. He wanted her but couldn't have her. He loved her but he couldn't be with her...back and forth. I don't want to give anything away but this book had more than one WTF moment for me. One surprise had me wishing that at least one of my GR friends had read the book so we could chat about what I'd just read. It was a shocker I didn't see coming! The drawback of the book for me was the suspense portion of the story. It went from the standard guilty pleasure, damsel in distress story I love to just a bit over the top. Nothing absolutely crazy, I just didn't like who and what the bad guy ended up being. It just kind of came out of left field and I thought the story would have been better if this was just a straight up, obsessed bad guy.

The writing was good, the steam was average (and what I expected from a title like this), I just didn't love the story in the end and thought it fell a little flat. That being said, I liked the book and probably would read more in the series just to see if the second book works for me. (Someone Like Her is scheduled to release January 2015 and is available for pre-order at Amazon).

HASH(0xa37bda20) out of 5 stars The alpha male developed a mangina Aug. 8 2014

I gave it 3 stars because I read it in one day. I couldn't put it down because I kept expecting something different. It had potential to be a great story but fell short. I like stories with Alpha Males and thought this would be right up my ally, it started out that way but then the hero became a whiny girl. I swear he had a "mangina" The author put in a twist about the hero that you rarely see, this made me excited but she turned him into the complete opposite of an alpha male. Yes he growled when he thought of other men wanting her, Yes he was a bada** Navy seal, those are common traits with alpha male characters, that's as far as it went though. I also prefer a little more in depth story. The author introduce a lot of characters but never really developed much of a story with them. She gave you their history but you didn't see very many interactions with them. I also felt like the daughter "disappeared" from scenes or should've been integrated more. (that's just my preference) No infant sleeps as well or is a pleasing as the baby in this book. I read fiction because I like fictional stories so I can deal with the baby being quiet and not "present" I just prefer if a character is introduced that the character becomes part of the story not an afterthought.
I'm not sad I read this book but it wont be one that I read again. It was an easy read and didn't require me to have any emotion about it. So if you are looking for an easy read with an ok story line and you don't mind the alpha male turning into a whiny girl then I would recommend this book for you.
