This was a needed purchase as my macbook was starting to get slow, this upgrade did the trick and helped my macbook run slightly faster and have less leg time between apps.

HASH(0xa5cdee58) out of 5 stars Works flawlessly with new Macbook Pro July 15 2009

After doing a bit of research how to upgrade RAM to 4GBs in new Macbook Pro (2009 edition, MB990LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop with 2GBs RAM) and failing to order from Crucial directly I went with this option. The upgrade was painless - with the right screwdriver for those little screws on the back of the laptop it took me 10 minutes to replace the default RAM (and I spent most of that time by looking at the other internal parts to see how the laptop is built). It works flawlessly so far (couple of days). I tested the RAM by loading memory hungry applications to fill the 4 GBs to see both modules work fine.

HASH(0xa5a9cd80) out of 5 stars Affordable upgrade for MacBook Pro 13-inch July 20 2009

This product does what it is promises. It was $40 cheaper than having Apple install it. Note that installing RAM yourself DOES NOT invalidate Apple warranty. You should, however, be comfortable with small screws and a fairly delicate inner design of the new unibody Apple laptops.

I purchased this Crucial kit and used it to upgrade my 2009 Mac Mini. The memory comes packaged very cheaply in plastic, but the install went smoothly and I have had absolutely no issues running this RAM.

HASH(0xa5cdde34) out of 5 stars works great--about 15 minutes to install Oct. 23 2009

These work fine in my MBP 13 (late 2009), and though I don't use a lot of memory-intensive programs, the extra 2 gb do seem to speed things up.

Installation took me about 15 minutes, and with the 10 screws holding the bottom plate, was a bit of work.

A few tips:

-Spend the money on a dedicated size 00 Phillips screwdriver

-If the screwdriver isn't already magnetized, rub a magnet (refrigerator versions will work) across the shaft a dozen time to make it so. Without the magnet holding the smaller screws on the tip, you're likely to drop them when they come out and will have trouble aligning them with the hole when it is time to put the cover back on.

-Print out Apple's picture directions and have them on the table as you work.

-Even with the right screwdriver, turn slowly and firmly--don't strip the screws.

-Keep the screws in a big, heavy bowl so they don't drop on the floor. The 8 short ones are tiny.

-It's counter-intuitive, but the label side goes down when installing the two boards.

HASH(0xa5cdd0fc) out of 5 stars Highly Recommended for Apple MacBook late 2008 June 25 2012

I read multiple reviews how people used this product for their Apple MacBook late 2008, hence why I purchased it. I just put this memory in my computer myself with the use of a #00 philips screwdriver. I am in no way a person that would normally open up my computer and start to touch anything inside it, let a lone remove or add memory to it, but with the multiple reviews saying that other people did it themselves, I decided to do it. What a difference it makes!! I already upgraded to Lion months ago and noticed the computer was slower than normal. The additional memory makes a world of a difference in my opinion. Especially with the cost difference from doing it yourself to having the Mac store install it, it was a no brainer. Wish I did this months ago. Very easy install, and the directions are available through Apple's website, or on youtube (I referenced both).
If your thinking about doing it, do it. You will save a substantial amount. Apple $100 for 2g, meaning $200 for both, plus $75 install at the store, OR $275 total.
If I can do it, so can you!!!!!!!!!!!!
