This deep fryer is so far so good. I use it to fry fries for my kids and it always turns out crispy.
I had Waring deep fryer for 10 years and it finally broke up on me. I wanted to buy the same thing but it has been discontinued. I decided to give this a try after reading the reviews on it and I am glad I did.

I checked wire cutter and America’s Test Kitchen for their reviews. This was the number one pick. Extremely well designed. Everything comes apart for easy cleaning. Heats up quickly. Good recipes come with machine

Similar to a professional fryer that doesn't take up a lot of counter space. Heats up pretty quickly. Tried frying a variety of frozen foods. Everything was cooked perfectly. Almost too good.

The Cuisinart is a lot like my old Tefal, just larger, but otherwise, same design. With the exception of the basket which is actually a lot more flimsy than the Tefal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fryer! Large size

My New Year’s resolution is to learn how to make donuts. I got this deep fryer and glad I choose this one. There are few fancier ones with presets and whatnaught, but the temperature set is really all you need and this thing holds temperature well. It’s big enough to fry 6 3-4 inch donuts at once. I probably could have gone with a smaller size since donuts fry up quickly so batching wouldn’t be too time consuming, but if I ever make something that requires longer cooking (like chicken wings) , the larger capacity is good. One thing other reviewers have mentioned is the power cord is connected to the fryer with a magnet and can come off if the fryer is jostled. Once it was set up it wasn’t really a problem though (I mean you probably don’t want to move/ jostle a fryer filled with a gallon of hot oil anyway.)

A note about fry oil. We strain our fry oil with a funnel and cheese cloth so we can get a lot of use out of it. This fryers insert was light enough for me (someone not very coordinated or strong) to hold up and pour into a funnel lined with cheese cloth. My husband held the bottle and the funnel while I poured. Though light the insert still feels very sturdy. As someone who struggles lifting cast iron fry pans, large casserole dishes, and lasagna pans, the lightness made me happy. I was really worried saving the oil would be a pain especially for such a big fryer, but the lightness of the tray helped a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy with this Fryer!

This cuisinart can fry a whole bag of frozen french fries easily. Easy to use, and the fryer really makes your food crispy.
It does take some time to heat up; but once hot, it works quickly. I found that the electrical attachment at the back of the fryer easily becomes disengaged from the unit. So you think it's heating up only to find out the attachment to the fryer came loose. Overall, would buy it again. Happy Frying!

4.0 out of 5 stars I wish I'd bought one sooner

Like most people we've done deep frying in pans or woks for ever. We finally decided to buy a real fryer. The difference is amazing. Cooking is even and much faster with the larger oil reserve. This thing holds 4 quarts of oil at once so the temperature variations are much less than in a pot or smaller fryer. It heats up relatively quickly, from cold it's about 10-12 minutes to 320deg. The construction is solid and the entire thing comes apart to simplify cleaning. The lid makes it great for keeping the oil in as nothing odd can drop in when you're not using it. The only downside, and why I gave it a 4 star, is that the usable oil is a little shallow, anything above 3 to 3 1/2 inches tall is going to poke up out of the oil. This is probably only an issue if you're planning on frying entire chickens or something similar. I like that the basket handle can be folded down and fits under the lid while you're not using it. The design of the handle could be a little better, squeezing it to lock it in place can take a bit of effort and finesse. I checked the oil temp against a digital thermometer and the temps are pretty close, certainly much closer than managing oil on a stove top. It has a nice timer cutout so you can not worry about walking away from it. The power cord has an interesting safety feature with a magnetic connection for the plug on the back. I have accidentally unplugged it a couple of times by knocking the plug off the back. That can be a pain to reach over and fix if you have hot oil in it.

All in all the cooking experience is great, nice even controlled heat with a splatter cover to avoid it spitting everywhere. Well worth the investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, learning curve!

I enjoy using it, I wish I would have purchased an oil container with it but I have one now to store the used oil in for future use. I did totally mess up my first batch of fried chicken by putting it in the basket first and it completely stuck, I needed to put the basket in the oil submerged and lay the chicken in. The basket is just used to lift it out, not put in. But otherwise it’s been pretty straight forward. Takes about 10-15 min to come to 375. I also put it on a big cookie sheet on my stove top so it’s under the vent fan.
