I have two of these pieces in other sizes and they have performed flawlessly. They distribute heat evenly, are tough, look great and can go from stove to oven to table. My parents always praised the benefits of cast iron but I never could stand having that ugly looking black stuff in my kitchen. This cookware performs just like my parents used to rave on about but looks 1000 times better. It is easy to clean in hot soapy water. Sometimes I need to use a simple dish brush or plastic scouring pad for baked on food but I've found that soaking the cookware in water for 15 minutes makes everything easier for the rare tough cleaning jobs. I have not had any problems with cookware discoloration during use. It's important to handle it and store the pieces carefully so that the enamel does not get chipped around the edges. I haven't had that problem but I generally am careful with looking after expensive kitchenware. This will be an item that can be handed down through the generations.

I was given as a gift a knock off no name cast iron pot which chipped and cracked. I couldn't justify spending $500 on the top of the line so i did some research and this pot had great reviews and i generally like Cusinart products. I was not disappointed. The ceramic coating inside is very durable and the finish on the outside looks great. It is not as thick as the higher end brands but that makes it lighter and really i don't think the heat dissipation is any worse. I also like the shape, its wider and not as tall as other pots but thats a good thing. Of course the best part is the price, less than half price of the high end pots. This is definitely the best value out there, highly recommend this pot.

I've used this a lot over the last year or so, it's holding up fantastically well. Providing you're cooking with it properly, nothing sticks that you don't want to stick and it cleans up like new every time. We've slow cooked sauces and high-heat braised beef in it, and it's holding up well.

However, there ARE a few small chips and dings, mostly around the lid or on the lid edge, which is unfortunate but doesn't affect anything about function; I have to assume that would be the case with any of these type of heavy cookware. Time will ultimately tell how it holds up, but I'm optimistic based on our experience so far.

I was considering buying a Le Creuset, but I watched America's Test Kitchen review of Dutch Ovens and this came as a close second to Le Creuset, and, wow, cannot beat the price. Their complaints about this product were regarding the handles, minor issues in my opinion - especially since I have tiny hands :D

I got it, and WOW. What a great product. Definitely recommended. It's also very beautiful. I've been using it consistently since I got and I'm impressed.

This pot (7 cup) is the perfect size for my needs. We are a family of four with teenage kids so the amount of food I can prepare in this Dutch oven is great. It's great for searing meat, making stews and casseroles and it easily goes from stove top to oven. The handles are ample and it's very wide allowing me to sear/brown a lot of meat at once. Clean up is easy. It's heavy, but that makes the food cook evenly. For the price I doubt you'll find a better Dutch oven.

I'm 75 and love to cook. I have a friend named Louise whom I have known for over 55 years who is the Foodie Queen. When it comes to batterie de cuisine, Louise has everything. However, she is not one to waste money. Thus, she has pricy, big name cookware like All-clad, but also less expensive items like a Cuisinart pasta kettle (with a colander in it) and this three quart enameled cast iron very much like Le Creuset, of which I have five or six pieces, so I am very familiar with Le C's finish and performance. This vessel performs every bit as well as it's two or three times more expensive Le C or Staub cousins (I have those too-- they are all great). I paid about $90 and I know Le C has a similar item for more than twice the price. I use it for rice, small soups and the occasional stew for a few people. As far as I can see it is flawless. If there are any problems they might appear in five or ten years if the enameled coating is for some reason less durable. In any case, I have already had enamel flaking from two Le C sauciers and a dutch oven after 20-25 years. The Cuisinart is a great value-- you won't regret it.

Never could figure out why people spend crazy amounts of money on basic kitchen items like these. This is an extremely well made, attractive Dutch oven that cooks evenly and is large enough for 95% of your needs. It cleans up fast and the ceramic coating is strong. I have owned much more expensive Dutch ovens in the past (I scratch cook all of my own meals) and I can definitely say that this does the job just as well as any I've used. Don't waste your money on "designer" cookware, buy what works at a reasonable price like this pot does.

Cream color is beautiful. While it is heavy, it's a manageable size. I cooked a 4.8 lb chicken with vegetables in the oven the first night, made stock from the carcass in it the next morning and chicken and rice in it that night. Day three, I added store-bought chicken stock for soup. I finally washed the pan that night, it cleaned up easily. I couldn't be happier with this pan. It's as good as my $300 dutch oven and my $300 braiser from you-know-who. I wish I had bought this Cuisinart first. Could have saved $600.
