Product Description

Fans of Daniel Silva, Robert Ludlum, and James Patterson will enjoy SWEET DREAMS by international bestseller Aaron Patterson. . .

Mark Appleton was living the American dream. Beautiful wife, loving daughter, and a high paying job in New York City. But his perfect life is shattered when his family dies in an accident. In the midst of putting his life back together, Mark discovers the seemingly random accident that killed his wife and daughter was not an accident at all. Mark will stop at nothing to hunt down the men responsible for the death of his family, and what he finds will change his life forever.

“New authors come and go every day. Very few come on the scene with the ability to weave a tale that will make you sad to reach the end, longing for more. At a time when the world needs a real hero, Patterson delivers big with the WJA's Mark Appleton—an unlikely hero for the 21st century.” —The Joe Show

“SWEET DREAMS is packed with action, suspense, romance, betrayal, death, and mystery.” —Drew Maples, author of 28 Yards from Safety

Wow, what a great book. I was enjoying the story, thinking to myself that it was a good espionage novel when bam, right out of no where, a twist. A twist worthy of a soap opera, never saw it coming at all. The writing is great, definitely keeps the reader intrigued and wanting to turn the pages. Although the setting is the current time there is new technology introduced in such a way that one wonders if it could really be in the development stage on someone's experimental computer drawings somewhere in the world where money is no object. Both Mark and Dirk's characters are developed to the point of believability and definitely left me anxious to continue on with the second book in the series. Way to go Aaron!

HASH(0x9c559e88) out of 5 stars Sweet Dreams Aug. 20 2010

I loved this book. I had downloaded his first book Dreams my accident. I thought that I was getting James Patterson and just started reading and loved the book. So when I finished the first book I went on to this the 2nd and it was just as good as the first. He is very much like James Patterson one of my favorite writers. I didn't want to put the book down, there was always something going on. The characters are great you feel you know them and like them. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes James Patterson or books like his. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

HASH(0x9c55c0f0) out of 5 stars Sloppy in every sense Jan. 15 2011

So poorly edited was this book (at least in the Kindle edition) that it almost distracted from the many ridiculous premises . On many occasions I had to re-read lines to make out the intended sense. You wouldn't know that I hate to be picky, but most other editors know when to use the word "than" instead of "then". The plot started out as a standard thriller, but ended up half-way through the book turning into more of a second rate science fiction than thriller. The prose varies from Harlequin romance sickly sweet (I touched her soft shoulder), to comic book heroic. Maybe I misunderstood the reviews. Is this a book for young readers?

HASH(0x9c55c0b4) out of 5 stars impressed with this writing May 19 2010

This was an exciting book - I could hardly put it down. Some places could have used some more development, I was confused in some places and it took me a little time figuring out where we were in the story. Adding the details of how the storyline came about would have been useful and would have made the book a little longer to enjoy.

HASH(0x9c55c3a8) out of 5 stars A bad comic book Dec 14 2010
By Tonton - Published on

The only things lacking in this violent comic book are the illustrations & word bubbles. Total disregard for science. Stereotyped characters. Disjointed & sloppy anything-goes story line. Fantasy gadgets. Cruel & amoral acts carried out by the main character in the name of justice. This is not the stuff of even mediochre novels. This is a bad book. It is aimed at a person with a mental age of 10 or less with violent tendencies. I read it to the end in spite of my rising nausea because (1) I'd paid for it and (2) I kept hoping that somewhere near the end the author might come up with a surprise to pull it together and save his book from filing as literary trash; but no. I regret my decision to have finished it.

HASH(0x9c55c408) out of 5 stars lame...grammatical issues aside March 25 2010

There is potential for a good story in this book, but it never quite feels cohesive. One of the key basic plot turns does not reveal or segue is fairly abrupt and this reader was left with the desire to re-read the section to see if I missed something the first time around. I wanted to put it down and stop reading, but I kept going hoping it would get better...instead it got more unbelievable. The author then moved into creating almost unrealistic tools the characters would use ...spoiler machine? bullets that shoot material that make the blood harden instantly? Really? Not much depth to some of the main characters either. I did not finish this book.
