The book makes no sense. There's no chemistry between the characters. There's a hitman and a girl. He kills someone, kidnaps her, and then they have sex because somehow they have feelings for each other.
I just didn't get it.
The plot basically is that Gray or Grayson is a killer...a very good killer. He is in a club and he doesn't want to be...sees some woman that is described best as looking like Snow White (her skin was white like fresh snow and she had midnight blue eyes like the sea....the sea has hues of green and blue but, whatever....), they have some poorly developed dialog and then bam, sex, love and mayhem because he is not allowed to bring her to the "kill" house where all the other killers live
And that's the book. Oh and there is some gritty, over described sex in the book. According to the information available about the book it was edited (if that is a true statement then the author should never hire the editor again since it had so many mistakes) What, you need an example? Example- "The place was packed and smelt of sweat, sex and alcohol. The sentence should have been edited to "The club was packed and had a smell of sweat, sex and alcohol." See what I mean? A good editor next time please.
I can always overlook typos, wonky formatting, some spelling errors...hey it happens with indy publishing but this was worse that fan fiction thrown up on a 50 Shades fan site. I wish the author would understand if you have an AND between two words, you don't need a comma after the word. if you string more than three words together, then a comma would be necessary.
I noticed all the 5 stars which makes me wonder if ARCs were giving for reviews. Since I am one of the few verified purchases, I would take those 5 star, gushing reviews with a grain of salt...or several.
Overall, skip it. Save your .99 cents for some really great books that you actually want to spend time with and not this book where you are thrown out of the story so many times because you are going back to correct the author's third grade grammar.
We start out meeting Gray in a club on the hunt for a female to relieve some tension before his exciting night of blood and death LOL. The club scene isn't really his thing and the chick he has his sights set on seems to be a little too goody goody for him. BUT she catches his eye and when he approaches she is all over his charm. Come to find out Ellie is also out of her comfort zone being someone she really isn't and although this super hot and mysterious guy seems like danger she is ready for the challenge. That is until they hit the alley and she watches him transform from sex on a stick to killer. For some reason he is not ready to be done with her after what she sees so he puts his life on the line to have her to himself for a bit. With his friend/business associates help he comes up with a way to attempt having the best of both worlds. Imagine his surprise when the next job comes in and he finds out who he really has in his bed and who it is that he has been working with and for all this time.
Ellie has a nasty past that she is running from yet sadly she may have just run straight into something far worse. Will Gray keep his word and let her go ?? Will Gray put his life on the line to save this woman he is smitten by ?? Ellie has to choose between the lesser of two evils and basically once again give up her freedom to stay safe. Not an ideal situation at all but hey at least Gray is super hot , super sexy and panty melting !! Look at that cover !! I could be on board with that...
Elise is escaping rim a life of abuse. That's all she has ever known. A night at the club and she witnesses something she shouldn't and is taken.
Grayson is is a killer. A notorious cold blooded killer. The first time he's sees Elsie he is attracted to her. Witnessing things she shouldn't Grayson has no choice but to take her to protect himself.
This books is dark and gritty, passionate even. I loved every second I got to spend with Grayson but was torn on weather I loved him or wanted to scratch his eyes out. Elise is one bad butt chick,, no damsels in distress in this book, and that's refreshing. I loved her. Loved every second I got to spend with her. It's twists and turns wrapped jn darkness and a must read, I really loved this book. The ending will leave you speechless.
JL Beck has it it out of the ballpark with Dangerous Ties
