Christian Malard a débuté en 1974 pour RTL, puis il a travaillé pour France 2, la Cinq, à l'époque des directs de la Guerre du Golfe, puis de nouveau pour France Télévisions, où il dirige le service étranger. Il commente en direct les attentats du 11-Septembre depuis New York. C'est lui qui interviewe le président Sarkozy sur sa politique étrangère le 14 juillet 2009. Il est toujours éditorialiste pour France Télévisions, spécialiste des Etats-Unis et du Moyen-Orient.
