I purchased this game for my family to play together on Christmas dad. Two adults and two teens. We had a fantastic time playing, it was never clear for certain until near the end, who would win. It was challenging to win and yet not difficult at all to learn, which is exactly what I was looking for.

I was happy to get the European version as it felt more interesting to me than an American one. I look forward in future years to adding on expansion packs for India, Asia, etc... Very cool game, our whole family enjoyed it.

I played the US version before, but decided to buy the Europe version to mix things up a bit. Game is great, it adds a bit of difficulty with the tunnels and bridges, that are spicing things up for experienced players, but that can add a bit too much complexity for first time players. Quality of the game is really top notch, you feel the board and the cards have been well made. I recommend this game for any lover of the Ticket to ride franchise!

We bought the Europe version. With two children it took some time to get going initially. Should have read the instructions beforehand rather than jumping straight in. We have decided to leave tunnels, ferries and stations for a later time and just play building routes for now. However all the family love it and our 10 year old beat us all in our last game so it's a game anyone in the family can play and win.

This is a really great game to play from 2-5 players. You can buy at independent stores like 401 Games in Toronto for $32. I just bought Europe and the expansion set of India and Switzerland for $60 combined.

Ticket to Ride (TtR) base games come in two flavours: this one covering Europe, and the North American map (reviewed elsewhere). The gameplay in both is almost identical (there are a few tweaks to the rules with the Europe expansion, but nothing major), the cards a bit bigger in Europe compared to the original North American release, and of course the map is different.

It's the different map that will entice most players. If you live in Europe, it's nice to play on your home turf. If you are used to the North American map, then the Europe map gives you a different playfield to enjoy. The two maps (Europe and North America) play quite differently, each has its strengths and weaknesses, and both can be fun. I tend to play both about equally, switching between them at times simply to shake up the game a bit and prevent settling into the same strategies each time.

If you play TtR already, Europe is a great new map. If you don't play TtR, you can easily choose either base game and you won't go wrong. Excellent game!

We like the game, but I found the same item for a better price at a games store later. Shop around.

Had played the North American board of Ticket to Ride many times in the past, but as many players will agree — once you've played the game enough, the routes become obvious. So we decided to give the Europe board a try! A little confusing at first (some more obscure locations, or locations written in their native tongue rather than English, which is expected but perhaps a little daunting while drinking...) but the difference in the boards is enough to make it a new game (8-train route? What!?).

Really enjoyed the game, would recommend even if you haven't played the North American board.

I love this game. This one or the American one are the two starting ones, and are probably easiest for a new player to pick up - I bought this one for my brother as a gift. I've also played the South Africa, Asia, India, and Germany, and all were good: they each have slightly different rules, but are all fairly similar. I prefer the European over the American because it feels more exciting, but to each their own.

Unlike monopoly or other things you might have played growing up, Ticket To Ride games are short (about 40 minutes), easy to learn, and give people things to talk and think about while other people are taking their turn, which I find makes them a lot more entertaining.

Easy for both kids and adults to play. Plus, you get to learn some geography!
