Product Description

New York Times bestseller Elle Kennedy brings you a sexy new Off-Campus novel that can be read as a standalone

She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy…

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

…and it’s going to be oh so good

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Playboy hockey player. Sarcastic, smart, brave, moving on with her life, rape victim. He makes a hard won deal and finally convinces her to tutor him. His plan is to help her with her crush. The wonderful part of this book, other than its beautiful written was the sharing of truths and emotions. Fun, smart, sassy characters falling in love with everyday troubles. Tiny bit of angst towards the end which turned out to be funny and sweet and no cliff hanger

“For the love of God, I’m not tutoring you.”

“Sure you are.” I shrug. “I just need to figure out what you want in return.”

“I want to not tutor you. That’s what I want.”

As soon as I read the blurb of this book, I knew it would be up my alley. This book was amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was just so funny and entertaining. I couldn't get enough.

The story is about a young woman in college named Hannah, who is still getting over something life altering that happened in her past. Despite that big event in her life, Hannah is pretty tough and has a good sense of humour. She has great friends that surround her, is passionate about her music, and very intelligent. This is where Garrett, a star college hockey player, comes into the picture. After he realizes that Hannah got an A in a class he is struggling in, he decides she will be his tutor so he can keep playing hockey. Unfortunately, Hannah wants nothing to do with him, she is busy as it is and all she has eyes for is the new guy who plays Football named Justin. But, Garrett is not one to give up, so he will do whatever it takes to get her to tutor him, even help her land the guy she has been crushing on.

"You won't let anything bad happen to me, will you, Garret?"

"Never."

I can't stress enough how much I loved this book. It seemed to have everything that I love in a story. But what I really liked about it was how much I loved the heroine, which doesn't happen too often unfortunately. Hannah was the best. I loved that they start off as "friends", well sort of. Hannah wants to get Justin's attention, so she accepts Garrets offer of help in order to get it.

Loved it! Captivated from start to finish! Witty and Realistically Romantic!
The chemistry between the bad boy hockey player Garrett Graham and the saucy Hanna Wells is perfectly scripted, they both have a vision of where they need to get in life, both have horrific secrets they don't want to share and neither want a romantic relationship. But when circumstances bring them together and the seamless banter between them starts it gets your heart beating because you want these two broken souls to get together. But Hanna has a crush on another guy and Garrett has a no girlfriend rule. he needs to pass a course to keep playing hockey so Garrett strikes a deal with Hanna who excels in his class to tutor him in exchange to get her guy. But when they start spending time together they form a trusting friendship then one night it all changes over a kiss and and the sexual chemistry between them explodes into hot and steamy scenes. They share their secrets to each other and forge a romantic relationship full of love and then their pasts haunt them and cause heartbreaking moments but in the end they realize that they want each other and will not let anyone get in their way!

Highly recommend this book!

New Adult is like crack to me. No matter how repetitive the stories are, I always go back for more and enjoy every second of it. The Deal is no exception.

The Deal follows Hannah and Garrett's tumultuous relationship that begins with him failing an exam and begging Hannah for her help. She agrees to tutor him in exchange for a date with him that will make her more desirable to her crush Justin.
It's a fun idea if you ignore the glaringly obvious issue...

The pacing of this book was great until about 3/4 of the way through. The story started to move slowly with it much happening then picked back up for the last few chapters. In my opinion, the story would have been better off a few chapters less.

The Deal follows the same outline of almost every other New Adult book. The guy and girl don't get along then eventually fall in love with some sort of serious issue thrown in for an added layer of complexity. This is where The Deal lost me.

Very mild spoilers...

Hannah was raped in the past and has worked through the emotional issues she's faced. She's a better and stronger person and is happy with her life. This is great. Seeing a main female character who has moved passed emotional issues is rare, however it felt like the author used rape as a way to give Hannah depth as a character and as a plot device later on in the book. The story would have worked perfectly without it.

Overall, The Deal was a fun New Adult Romance with likable characters and witty and funny writing.

This book has everything! Every emotion, every sort of character one could hope for in a book. It left me excited for the next page, at the anticipation of what direction the main characters would go. I'm so happy I read this and more importantly how I'm going to re read it again. This is my first 5 stars of 2015!!!
