She is no longer free.

Jethro Hawk receives Nila as an inheritance present on his twenty-ninth birthday. Her life is his until she’s paid off a debt that’s centuries old. He can do what he likes with her—nothing is out of bounds—she has to obey.

I got through to the second last instalment of the series and gave up. It had my attention for the first two, but I kept buying the next book thinking it was the last and it never was; I just wanted to finish the story! I'm not opposed to dark romance, but this honestly was a waste of time. I understand she wants to make money with her writing, but this carried on for far too long. So long in fact that I became seriously disconnected from the characters and story. It was the same BS over and over again; torture, mind games, possibility of escape from the torture, possibility thwarted, book finished on cliffhanger and repeat. It just became annoying so I moved onto something else.

Doesn't even deserve a single star! It's ridiculous, cheap violence, demeaning towards women, sexist etc. Copycat sex scenes and wording stolen from Fifty shades of Grey trilogy. Did not get past page 50...

Let me start by saying – THERE. IS. NO. WORDS. to describe this book…other than, actual eff the what?? Yes – after you read this one, you will be mixing up your words too. Here’s why..

An age old vendetta passed down through generations. Centuries of sacrifices, all to fulfill the outcome of a fateful mistake more than 600 years ago. This book will take you to levels you’ve never experienced. It will excite you, it will shock you, it will horrify you with its monstrous villains and dastardly acts. All in the name of obligation and retribution. If you are faint of heart, if you aren’t a fan of dark, twisty, almost terrifying reads – then this isn’t a book for you. But if you do enjoy pushing the limits, testing yourself and opening yourself up to deceitful desire and lecherous lust, then get ready – the Debt Inheritance series has arrived and it’s going to blow your world apart.

Nila Weavers – privileged, sheltered and innocent. We first meet her at her fashion line show, her first accomplishment of a couture designer. Instantly she intrigued me. Indulging in a cat and mouse text message “sexation” with a virtual stranger, she finds herself both fascinated and surprisingly aroused at his dirty talking suggestiveness. Longing for more passion in her life, she begins to recognize her desires for something more than the life she’s led. When introduced backstage to her father’s associate Jethro Hawk, her lady parts immediately sit up and take notice, screaming at her that he’s what she’s been waiting for. The mysterious, somewhat sinister Mr. Hawk compels her to accept his invitation for a date with little regard for who he is or what his true intentions may be…

Jethro Hawk.

I loved Debt Inheritance (Book 1) in the Indebted series.

Excerpt: Nila, when you’re a big girl, you can wear my clothes, shoes, and jewellery, but you have to grow a little taller before that day.” My mother laughed, looking down at me on the floor of her walk-in wardrobe. I’d not only raided her jewellery box and draped myself in gemstones but wore a feather boa with a baggy one piece swimming suit and giant high heels. I thought I looked incredible. For a seven-year-old.

Holding up the pearls around my neck, I said, “Promise? I can have these when I ‘m your size?” She ducked, pulling me into a hug. “You can have everything of mine. Why?”

I smiled, I knew the answer to this. “Because you love me.” She nodded. “Because I love you.”

The memory came and went, stealing the firm ground beneath my feet and sending me headfirst into nausea. (Wow! Who knew what this would mean when Nila grew up and the significance of the Diamond Collar that would be put on her.) No real spoilers here! This will just keep you guessing and you will have to read Debt Inheritance on your own!

Warning: There is a lot of HOT sex in this book and it ends in a cliffhanger but, you shouldn’t have to wait long for First Debt.

I can’t wait to start Book 2 in the Indebted Series, First Debt will be coming in a couple of days from this review. As always I love Pepper Winters books. She is a Queen of the Dark and I consume her books.

I get where you would want to use shock factor to hold an audience but ... with the inability to seem realistic with the characters emotions and responses to certain drastic situations? Meh!

I so love Pepper Winters ability to write dark, scary, intense and arousing tales. As the reader I enjoy the struggle I have in solving the mystery and figuring out the characters. I also love that she never hold back on the torture she puts her characters through.
This story is no different a talented Clothing Designer finds her life changed by a tall dark stranger who takes her away from everyone and everything she thought she knew, telling her that she is to pay off a family debt. What neither expects is how each effects the other.
The setting and subject matter is not for the faint of heart pulling you totally out of the comfort zone though is so worth it.
Once you take a odyssey of one of Pepper Winters stories you'll never be able to pass the next one up, she is just too addicting.
