It's no surprise that Holly and Leslie have a breadth of knowledge and passion for the subjects of florals, styling and home decor, and that comes through in the entire book. It is full of simple, creative ideas that go beyond the traditional bouquet, and step-by-step instructions illustrating how to execute those ideas. While reading, you truly feel that you can recreate the beautiful projects by picking up some flowers and incorporating your own personal touch.
One of the book's strengths is its organization into 8 different sections, which allows the reader to explore different and well-developed colour palettes, homes, and floral styles. It doesn't restrict itself to one design look, and chooses to explore aesthetics ranging from natural to neon. As a longtime follower of Leslie and Holly's work together on their respective blogs A Creative Mint and Decor8, I was happy to see that they incorporated Leslie's signature colour based moodboards throughout the book.
Colourful, charming, and beautifully designed, Decorate With Flowers is perfect for yourself or a friend, as a gorgeous coffee table book or an informative guide to the world of flowers and all of the possibilities within it.

Broken down into themes - which is always a help to readers, I was particularly enchanted with the Pastels & Neons .. and the Girly Glam sections. Now, as a girl that tends to be a neutral (beige / grey / cream) girl -- the fact that these sections spoke to me what a real surprise. That just shows how talented these lovely ladies are. They can make a simple & "I don't take color chances in my home" girl into a freak for neon.
I also really love a good resource or materials section. The "What's in our Cabinet" was a treasure trove of items that I know now my life will not be complete without. I love when that happens.
The beauty of this book is the ease that you feel while reading it. You truly believe that you will be able to duplicate or even be inspired to try your own version of their vignettes. Holly & Leslie know their readers -- they understand their design aesthetic. It's an open & friendly book that hits all the highlights and a wonderful addition to my design / creative library. Beautiful -- grab one for yourself.
