As compared to the first book in this series, I liked the second one much better. The story was very genuine and the characters more relatable. Where the first seemed smutty the second was more romantic and tasteful. The plot too was very endearing due to Brandon and Daisy's backgrounds. Now I look forward to Alexa's and (if I guessed correctly) Dante's story.

Ay Dios mio... Brandon Montoya. The hotter than sin, confirmed bachelor who owns one of LA's most popular restaurants has found himself in a bit of a jam. His beloved Mama has cancer and refuses to come to the US for treatment. The only way he can think to get her out of Puerto Rico and into the hands of the best oncologist stateside is... to fake his own engagement?? Really, dude? Has that ever worked for anybody? But Brandon is so desperate he is willing to try it. Enter Daisy Robles. A beautiful event planner struggling to get her fledgling business off and running. Growing up, Daisy had no relationship with her own mother so she takes the opportunity to help Brandon after seeing how upset he is about his mother's condition. The plan - fake engagement, mother gets medical treatment, end engagement. No one is the wiser, no hearts are broken and most important, Mama gets well. What could possibly go wrong?
Oh my, my.. Sabrina Sol knows how to write one dirty talking alpha male. From the first pages of this book I was hot for Brandon. He's determined, successful, good natured and loves his mother. What's not to love? Daisy has a chip on her shoulder due to her childhood and is determined not to let anyone into her life. Her bed...maybe. I received this book as an ARC so there were a few editing issues. Nothing that compromised the story, just some spacing items and a few misspelled words or words that had been left out. The characters were so well developed and the story flowed seamlessly. It was an absolute pleasure to read. This is the second book in the series, behind Delicious Temptation, also by Sabrina Sol. I loved it! Simple as that. It made me laugh, worry and finally... need a change of panties and a cigarette. ;)
Sabrina Sol, you knocked this one out of the park, chica! MUCHAS GRACIAS!

I don't know why but I really like the whole fake engagement storyline, mostly because I'm shocked people don't do this more in real life (although I do know people who have pretended to date each other to get their parents to stop nagging them before). I mean really sometimes being involved with someone can solve a lot of issues, so why not get into a mutually beneficial situations, plus in books, it always means some funny scenes, and a build up that makes the ending so much fun to read.

So our heroine in this book is Daisy, and part of what I loved about her (and Brandon) is they are both Hispanic and I loved how the culture was weaved into the characters and the story. So Daisy is super sweet, she's a nice girl, she's a really hard worker, and she's good family to have. She wants to be a wedding planner (or event planner) and she met Brandon through her cousin, and he's actually been super helpful to her. Daisy has a big heart, so when one night, and a lot of tequila leads to the tabloids reporting they are married, and Brandon wants to seize this opportunity to get his mother to come visit and get cancer treatment, well Daisy just can't say no. What I liked about Daisy was that she stood up for herself when she needed to, she's hard working, and she goes above and beyond to be friendly to everyone. She was just so likable in this book.

And Brandon, well Brandon starts this book as kind of a playboy. He's kind of a man's man, a self described bachelor for life, and well the world's biggest work-a-holic. But he's a really nice guy, he works hard, he's successful, he loves his family, and cares about his friends. So all in all, if you are going to be fake engaged to someone Brandon's not a bad way to go. I liked how he went into too, he was really respectful of Daisy throughout the book in regards to what she wanted to do. But most of all I loved how concerned he really was about his family, I mean he really loves and appreciates his mom, and he wants her to be healthy and okay and he wants her to be happy, and he works so hard to make sure that she is all of those things.

I loved the dynamics between Daisy and Brandon, they had great chemistry and banter, and their personalities really complimented each other really well. I liked how the ending of the book really heightened the stakes, and amped up the drama (Brandon doesn't always think before he does). I was pulling for these two to get their happily ever after, they were just so enjoyable to read. If you like the whole fake engagement storyline, then this is for a sure a book you should check out.

This was great. I love that there was more to Brandon than met the eye. His guilt over a rash thing when he was a teen really affected him and I believe drove him to where all he focused on was being successful. He was trying to show his mom she wasn’t weighing him down. He comes off as this snobby man but really he is a marshmallow.

Daisy is sweet. She has a temper and is stubborn but has a good heart. Her interactions with Brandon were a hoot. Those two could goad each other like no other. But she needed him and he needed her so when they he asked for her help so that his mom could come to LA that was wonderful. Her self confidence in her being what someone would want was low so she kept things hidden from Brandon. when he could have used her to let him know she didn’t and this gave him self doubt.

What started as a arrangement so she could possibly get her wedding planner business more exposure and taking off and him his mom what she needed turned into something for the both of them. For Brandon it became a wakeup call. Soon he went from being one to enjoy being a bachelor to wanting nothing but coming home to Daisy. He tried to deny it but after a while he couldn’t. When they got together it was steamy and he couldn’t get enough of her. He began to see that there was more to life than just business. For Daisy she began to feel wanted and desired. She was mean at times but that was just to protect herself. Both did this.

I like how the friendship and trust is established first before they got intimate. In ways that was more intimate than the bedroom moments. they got to know each other and see the other for who they were and not just what they saw on the outside. Each had hangups for Brandon it was a teenage moment and for Daisy it was her mom. These affected their views on themselves and relationships. They were both gunshy and unwilling to admit to themselves and each other what they were feeling so they skirted the issue. One needed the encouragement and the other just doubted herself and that anyone like Brandon would like her and change. This led to moments where the relationship got stilted. In the end these two learn that they love each other but the ride there was a interesting and exciting ride. All the characters helped you understand more about them and we see a attraction between Derek and Alexa that I would love to read about. They goad each other like Brandon and Daisy did. The slow buildup of the romance was good and real. We don’t see instalove but we see people trying to figure out themselves, what they want and growth. We see friendship than more.

A great book on finding oneself and your voice. finding the person who changes you and helps you while supporting you and loving you.

Boys and their mama’s!
Brandon Montoya has the world at his fingertips, one click and he can have anything he wants…except what he wants most…his mama coming to town for much needed medical treatment.
The singularly most important woman in his life has just discovered she has cancer and he can’t convince her to let him help save her life, let him get her the very best treatment, to let him keep her with him a little longer. He isn’t giving up on his mom without a fight and if he has to Brandon is ready to play dirty!!
Knowing that the only thing important to his mama is his happiness, Brandon plots to trick her into coming to town – what better way that for her to believe that he has found the love of his life and if finally settling down. Ok, so here I was ready to throttle him but I could sense the desperation – he really was prepared to do anything.
So first task, find himself a willing participant in his get mamma to town charade!
That would be the fabulous Daisy Robles.
Daisy is doing everything she can to get her business up and running but times are tough at the minute and having never had much of relationship with her own mother, she is struck by just how far Brandon is prepared to go for the woman that brought him into the world.
Desperate to help the situation Daisy agrees that she will be his fake fiancé, after all how difficult is it going to be?
Famous last words, there Daisy!!!!
The plan may be simple but the execution by Sabrina Sol was superb.
I loved Brandon from the first page, he was a pitch perfect alpha male with a body chiselled for sin and a mouth that was as filthy as they come… I could have listened to him all night.
The story not only flowed it practically floated – I adored the connection between the two of them and the consummate ease with which the author brought them and their predicament to life.
