Product Description

He’s a gambling man…
One brunette bombshell with a devious mind and a potty mouth has thrust Kent smack dab in the middle of where he never wanted to be—his family. He’s spent most of his life avoiding his familial responsibilities, especially the one that required him to join the Ninth Circle Council—the demon society’s equivalent of judge, jury and executioner. Then one lost bet with the little Amazon flipped his entire life upside down. With worries about retaliation from the remnants of a rogue pack of wolves in Germany, he doesn’t have time to deal with his family, or his obsession with Chloe Demos.

And she’s the biggest risk he’ll ever take…
After her mother’s death, Chloe’s world crashes down around her. A secret Amazonian heritage. Aunts and a long lost brother she never knew about. Supernatural beings. With all of the sudden changes, she’s decided it’s time to step out from behind her façade of an air-headed, materialistic bimbo and show her sisters she truly does love them—she only hates their wardrobes. What better way to show she cares about her family than to help prove someone close to one of them is innocent of the bogus murder charges from some ridiculous council? Chloe has no scruples about calling in the marker the demon Kent owes her in order to do just that. It’s only too bad she’s underestimated Kent’s intelligence, and his playboy charm.

I found this book highly enjoyable.

I love that Chloe emits all the traits of an Amazon - she's gorgeous, well dressed, deviously smart and cunning (though that is hidden from many) and she undeniable strong and family oriented.

Kent is a demon with a conscience.

They goad each other. Flirt with each other. Set each others sense on fire. And I found it explosive.

There was also a lot of Elena and Gage that was mixed into the story. Although I find Elena entertaining - especially her unrational fear of spiders.

Although I like seeing the family dynamic between the Demos' women, I did crave a little more cat and mouse chase between Chloe and Kent. When they're together, they tend to make everyone else invisible.

I think you'll love this book!

Cop, manwhore, demon. Those are all things that Kent has been called. While he doesn’t necessarily like manwhore, he does have to admit that he has a thing for the ladies. That is what has landed him in his current predicament. How could one simple bet have him breaking his rules and taking on the one thing that he has never wanted? Oh yeah, because that bet is to Chloe Demos, the Amazon that is currently making his overheated blood run even hotter. What is the best way to get a demon interested? Act completely unfazed and slightly condescending. Or that seems to be the way that Chloe has gotten his attention.

Chloe has a hard time trusting, but she does rely on her instincts. And those instincts are screaming that the case she and her sisters are part of is a setup. Someone is trying to make a young tigress pay for a death that Chloe doesn’t believe she committed, and the only way to make sure that she gets a fair trial is to call in the winnings of a bet that she placed with the arrogant and dangerously sexy Kent. No matter what he does, or says, he infuriates and attracts her in equal measure. She doesn’t have time for a man that she wants to strangle one minute and take to bed the next. But a life is on the line, so she can strangle him after they save it. Win, win!

THE DEMON WHO LOVED ME was hilarious! I swear Jessie Lane can create some of the kookiest and lovable characters out there. I laughed numerous times throughout this story (spider!) and loved every second the interaction between Kent and Chloe. Poor Kent was getting shafted before even doing anything, but he did tend to open his big mouth without thinking. Luckily, he had Chloe to put him right back in line. I have read every story of the Big Bad Bite series and this book fits in swimmingly with the antics and intrigue that runs throughout the series. Danger, racy comments, and slapstick routines? Check, check, and CHECK! A winner in my book.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THE DEMON! June 10 2017

First off... (flat lines)... now, that's better. I have to say, I am a HUGE Jessie Lane fan. I love her work, her ability to get you so wrapped up in a story that you lose all sense of time and space. I've been a big fan of Kent since he first showed up. He's just a badarsed man who carries a big gun. Dude, like seriously, what. could. be. better? NOTHING! If I could give this one more than a 5* I would.

The dynamics between Kent and his SWAT Partner Jenna is one thing. He handles her in his own way. He handles most woman in a special way.. but the demon meets his match when he first meets Chloe Demos. She is not going to let him and his manly charms get to her. Oh no, she is a tough mama and ain't fallin' for that. But when the two of them find themselves trying to clear the name of an innocent woman, Lu Lu Ivanov, things start to change between them. It's not unnoticed to either of them what the other does to them but neither are ready to accept it at first.

Thing is with attraction you cna only fight it for so long. With the danger, wicked words Kent keeps sending her way Chloe is slowly learning she is fighting a losing battle... however until they clear Lu Lu none of this can be real. They have to focus... The people responsible for the crimes will pay.. trick is to see if that happens before Kent wears Chloe down and does all the wicked things he's promised he will, to her.

They're like fire and lightening. Both waiting to heat up the other.
2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed after loving the previous one. Storyline overlap caused to much catch up. May 29 2017

The main characters had no meaningful interaction or dialogue till about 75% then it was pretty much just superficial bickering and sex. Definitely a HFN with no Ily's all the way to the end. I guess that was good since they didn't even really get to know anything about each other. Didn't really get a chance to connect emotionally due to to much time spent apart. The plot overtook the romance, and even that was disappointing. The Hell council wasn't scary at all. There was absolutely no tension in Gage's sister Lulu's murder mystery storyline and the H/h never really got a chance to work together on it. There was a scene with a blood witch that was there just to setup the tension with next story about Elena and Gage (who I loved!) Babies. The third sister Delta had some set up also as she is now a vampire sired by someone who I don't think will be her hero. I just hope JL doesn't make the same mistake with her story, as right now she is in seclusion due to her bloodlust. If over half of her story is her time away from the others while she is learning to control herself I don't think I will be very happy. Still into the series but this one was a letdown.

I have a real thing for heroes who are demons. Unfortunately, they rarely live up to expectations. Sadly, Kent is one if those.
It was good to finally get into Chloe's head, and now I totally love her. However, Kent never managed that. The rest of the males in the series know the heroine will be their mate. However, Kent bemoans that no other woman arouses him. As in, if they did he'd totally sleep with them. No thanks.
The story itself was great, but I still felt really let down in the end. I'm hoping the next book will restore my faith.

I loved this book. I wanna be Chloe when I grow up. She's sassy, smart, funny and loves with her whole heart. At times in the story you wanna help with a smack down when someone hurts her.
Then comes in my Demon. And yes I said my Demon. Kent has appeared in previous books and you always wanted to get to know him better. But this is his book and now you just want to lick 👅 him head to toe.
This book can be read by itself but seriously who would want to?? Read the other three books first and get full enjoyment out of it. This book was definitely worth the wait and the stalking of this author. Hats off to Jessie Lane so worth the wait.
