About the Author
Nick Vellis, born in Pittsburgh to Greek-American parents, grew up in south Florida. He was a law enforcement officer for more than thirty years. Following his retirement, he began a career in technology sales providing intelligence and data analysis software to law enforcement and the military nationwide and overseas. He married his college sweetheart and they have one daughter. Mr. Vellis enjoys the outdoors with his family in beautiful Central Florida, performs volunteer work, and burns the midnight oil writing mysteries, thrillers, and detective stories. Mr. Vellis draws heavily on his law enforcement and intelligence background for a fresh and unique spin on the mystery/thriller genre. Dig Two Graves: Revenge or Honor, Mr. Vellis' first suspense thriller published in 2014, received honorable mention in the Readers' Favorite 2015 International Book contest in Historical Fiction. A contest judge said, "In Dig Two Graves: Revenge or Honor by Nick Vellis we are presented with a story that is fast paced and with an intricate mystery that deftly straddles two time periods which are both developed with loving detail." If you're a fan of plot-driven novels with a lot of suspense mixed in with some history (as I am), you'll definitely enjoy this book. I found myself putting it down occasionally because I was nervous to find out what happened next - but then of course I'd have to pick it right back up again.
My only gripe was that the formatting seemed a bit odd in places - it would jump to another scene/set of characters in the middle of a chapter and it would take a minute to figure out where you were; this may have to do with my reading the e-book versus a printed copy, but I don't know.
The two main characters AJ and Ceres, were well developed. Didn't know that the Germans send Greeks to concentration camps.
Also worthy of mention, a lack of profanity that seems to prevail in far too much so called literature.
