The books are like the show (this is not a "gimme"). My wife is energized just reading them, and has a growing list of meals she wants to prepare. Does it get better than that?
She is one of the most amusing people on the Cooking airwaves. I find myself wishing she were a friend of mine. BRAVA LAURA!!!!!!!
I wish I could get my money back and buy the hard copy now.
Laura has a food fashion sense and knows how to give a recipe a tweak so that she brings back tried and true, old fashioned recipes with new sides/combinations. I've never made Scotch eggs, but now, I'm going to try them with the coleslaw with apple and celeriac to make a great weekend lunch, not too fussy but innovative.
For a summer dinner that impresses without exhausting the cook, what about that flat-roasted chicken with merguez sausages served with green beans and garlicky tomatoes concassé?
