The RadianRXT is a highly versatile car seat that could be the only seat you’ll ever need. It comfortably seats rear-facing children from 2.3 - 20.5 kg (5-45-Pound), forward-facing children from 10 - 30 kg (22-65-Pound) in 5-point harness, then converts to a booster for children up to 54 kg (120-Pound). It’s built for strength and safety with a steel alloy frame, reinforced sidewalls, adjustable head support and our patented SafeStop energy absorbing harness. EPS foam surrounds the child's head and body to provide complete side impact protection. Our unique UAS compatible system makes installation easy. The RadianRXT is NCAP crash tested, the industry benchmark for verifying child seat performance in severe accident conditions, and the only car seat rated for UAS compatibility. The RadianRXT sits low on a vehicle seat for easy child boarding, features memory foam padding and infant support pillows. Expandable sides and a longer seat bottom provide extra room and comfort for your growing child. One cup holder is included, with the option to add up to 4 cup holders. I own 2 Radian RXT and 2 Britax car seats: a Boulevard 65 and a Marathon 65. The Britax car seats were hand me downs, and considering their excellent safety ratings, which were comparable to Diono, I took them to save myself another $900!!! We own a VW Golf Wagon and a GMC Acadia. All models are easy to install if you read the manuals and fit rear facing in both vehicles with the same amount of leg space available to the front passenger if you use the angle adjuster for the Radian RXT. Yes, even in the VW Golf!

RADIAN RXT
PROS
- excellent safety ratings
- extra head support
- easy to tighten and loosen straps and they get long enough to easily take kids out without arms getting stuck
- last up to 120 lbs... not that I think my kids will need them when in high school '
- never need to buy another booster
- fit three across
- low profile so my 3 yo can get into it without help
CONS
- heavy beast... but it is a steel frame
- have to re-thread the straps when child grows in height, so has to be uninstalled for that.

BRITAX MARATHON & BOULEVARD
PROS
- Excellent safety ratings
- easy install
- easy recline
- like the velcro tabs to attach straps when not in use.
- adjustable headrest to which the harness straps are attached, which means no re-threading of the harness straps. Can adjust without uninstalling car seat...RXT would be awesome if it had this feature.
CONS
- only last until 65 lbs.
- will need to buy a booster seat
- even pricier than the Radian RXT!
- dislike the pedestal. ... makes seat too high... no problem for our VW wagon, which is low to the ground, but a pain in the neck in our Acadia truck...

I received this item a little over 2 weeks ago. I ordered 2 one is forward facing and the other is rear facing with the angle adjuster. I absolutely love love love these car seats. They are low profile easy to load my kiddies in the car and get the bucket seat for my youngest over both seats to fit in the middle. They fit perfectly with lots of room to spare in the back of my Santa Fe 2013 XL with a Graco Snugride 22 base in the middle. The harness is easy to buckle and a breeze to tighten and loosen. Love the material on them. The super latch is awesome, a breeze to install.

Cons- it is on the heavy side so not ideal for a car seat that you'll be taking out often. This doesn't apply for me which is why I bought them.

To change the harness height you have to uninstall.

Those are the only 2 cons in my opinion. Absolutely love them and while be purchasing a 3rd when my little one outgrows the bucket seat.

The Radian is one of the few options we have in Canada to keep our little ones rear facing for longer. With a 45lbs weight limit ant tall harness slots, the radian might get most of the kids rf till 4 years old.

Pros:
- High weight and height limit Rear facing and forward facing;
- The low sides of the seat makes it really easy to lift a kid in and out;
- Provides lot of leg room for RF toddlers;
- The top tether can be used rear facing to control rebound;
- Well paded;
- 8 years lifespan (8 years after DOM);
- Diono has a great Customer service (french and English);
- When installed Rear facing, you can get an "Angle adjuster" for 13$. It's a Diono accessory that you put under the car seat to make it sits more upright. It suitable to use with infants that can sit unassisted and have good head control. It can't be use with a newborn. A newborn needs a 45 degreee angle. http://www.amazon.ca/Diono-Radian-Angle-Adjuster-1-Pack/dp/B006I1QTYQ/ref=pd_rhf_cr_s_cp_1_VN3G?ie=UTF8&refRID=0S2P394H429SKAZTVKMJ

Cons:
- This seat is HEAVY! It might not be a best bet if you plan on moving it frequently;
- The headwings tend to slip of position and are hard to adjust;
- The new harness pads are too big for small babies *** Call Diono and they might send you the smaller ones for free!***
- The harness can be hard to adjust (Ratchet type adjuster: pull, pull, pull...)
- The booster function is useless. The child must be 50lbs to use it and the belt guide is not adjustable. When the harness is outgrow, the booster is too.
-The radian can be really hard to install in some cars. It takes a few tricks to get a tight install. Remember that you only check for less than 1 inch of movement at the belt path.

This seat makes us feel very secure. I hope no parent ever has to test their car seat but this gives us peace of mind. It is very heavy. Easy to install. We definitely required the foam wedge to reduce the recline of the seat so we could use our front seat. We are disappointed that with the seat being so expensive, the wedge should either come with the seat or be cheaper ($15 CAD).

I love this car seat it is thin and comfortable looking. My 8 month old loves it because he can see the my other child in his foreward facing diono olympia. This one is much softer on the seat and sleeker to look at than the olympia in my opinion. It was easy to install... just like all the other diono car seats we have owned (but this one is my favorite so far- we have had the Olympia, R100, and the RXT). It fits easily in the back seat of my Chev Equinox behind the drivers or passenger seat. Only downside so far is that my kid can yank off the cup holder and chews on it, but it has really helped his teething!
