As the sequel to the acclaimed racer of 2007, DiRT 2 is set to take off-road racing games to a new level. Packed with a wide variety of features and in-game events such as new benchmark technology, thrilling new race types, big event atmosphere, stunning locations, a new breed of off-roading heroes and a peerless line-up of super-charged speed machines, DiRT 2 isn't your standard off-road racing game. It is the new standard.

For a game that was made in 2008-2009, this racing game looks flawless when compared with more modern titles. The team at Codemasters did an amazing job loosely tying Dirt 2 to the 'skate.' game series. -- if you've played both you'll know what I mean. Near- flawless level design is standout here, as the games' 'Free Race' option allows for countless game mode shifts in a variety of vehicles and scenarios ranging far from a typical rallying title.
I highly recommend getting this game, it provides hours upon hours of entertainment, and it's a great way to show off your television, (but I should also note that this game looks great on standard definition sets as well).
+ great visuals, even for 2011
+ great soundtrack that's not overly intrusive
+ hugely addicting career option
+ unending replayability
+ smooth multiplayer (albeit with no splitscreen)
+ fast smooth gameplay that's exhilerating and challenging but not stupidly hard
- menu, although slick, can be a little slow and frustrating
- no multiplayer splitscreen (which was very disappointing)
- no snow options (apparently remedied in Dirt 3)
All round, one of my favourite games. Superb. I hope Dirt 3 lives up to its predecessor.
