I purchased this book for two reasons: This author enjoys a high reputation as a diver and the title states this work to be the "Ultimate Guide to 60 of the World's top dive locations." Note the wording `of the World's best' - he is not insisting they are `THE' 60 best!
I am always looking for information on places to go - as well as being able to compare notes on places already visited. Having studied the content, I can understand those other reviewer remarks posted elsewhere which express disappointment - although it must be said that any diver's choice of what he or she regards as fitting the criteria for `best' or `top' dive sites etc will always be subjective. In short, my list will always be different from yours with neither being right or wrong - it's just the way it is. Having said that, whenever a writer gets down to describing a dive site they regard as good enough for such inclusion they are duty bound to justify that selection and this work contains some instances where that validation is simply not forthcoming.Read more ›

It also has a nice set of pictures and maps.
I think it's a good book to use if you intend to start planning a dive trip.
