Book 2 in the USA Today Bestselling Romance Series

"I should never have asked for a night with you. This would never have happened if I'd had more willpower."

Once upon a time, I was a mute captive who wished for death.
Now, I'm stowed away on a yacht.
Saved and taken, the thief who stole me demands my voice, my past, my everything.
I won't give in.
But Elder refuses to take no for an answer.
He pushes and cajoles, slowly discovering who I am. Until I find out he plays the cello to escape his demons, all while his music conjures mine.
He's rich, I'm bankrupt.
I'm mute by choice, he's curious by nature.
So many reasons why we can never work.
But that doesn't stop our connection, our passion.
Until one night, he ruins everything.

I don't think I can do justice to this book, the second in this series. The writing of Pepper Winters never ceases to amaze me, she is so versatile and so very good at getting the feelings of the book into your head and then it precedes to completely mess with it !!
This carries on from where Elder rescue's Pim from the life she was existing in - terrible abuse, cruelty, rape, she is decimated beyond all belief by Master A, but the question is will Elder be her salvation, her hero or is she jumping from the frying pan into the fire ? you will have to read this amazing book and find out.
For me this book is no where near as dark as the first book Pennies, but what this book does is takes us on the journey of discovery - mainly into Pim's feelings and thoughts, we get to look into her mindset and discover things we didn't know before. Some of it is heartbreaking and sad, desperate at times and Pepper Winters is an expert at breaking your heart, although there are moments when you feel yourself smile, balancing on the precipice waiting for some revelation - some glimmer of hope.
Elder too doesn't escape our invasion, I absolutely love his character, he is so deep and soulful, demanding and yet if you look a little deeper you will see a man that has suffered, a man in pain too. This book is RAW !!! but so masterfully put together. One minute your heart is soaring only to plunge to the depths of hell once again.
The ending is once again left open for the next installment of this fascinating couple, I honestly didn't want to let them go yet - I was so consumed in the story, their lives, their complications, their failures and their successes and I re read the last chapter before closing my kindle until the next time we meet Elder Prest and his Pim.
Truly wonderful storytelling !!!

I am so excited to have the second book of this series. Ms. Winters is a magician and can weave an incredible tale. The story picks up from the last so if you haven't read Pennie$ go and read it now! The ending of Pennie$ was a heart stopping one so I'm sure most people are eager to see what is in store for Pim now that she is with Elder.

What I love about this book is that the reader gets to see Elder and Pim interact much more. They talk to each other, not often with words but with the silence that lingers between them. And often, the silence speaks more than words ever could. The two of them are so in tune with each other, despite the short time they have known each other, that they are able to hear the other's thoughts.
Walls are starting to crumble and their thoughts and feelings about each other are constantly changing. There is an uncertainty and doubt being experienced by both Elder and Pim.

Layer by layer, parts are slowly revealed. The shadows that lurk within Elder's life slowly step into the light and you come to understand the boy he was before he became the man he is today. But there are still questions that linger about him.

There are some flirty and playful moments. Like Elder saying:
*"Let's try another question. Do you want to come? Or do you want to come?"*
Cheeky on his part ;)

And there is the wonderful moment on the deck where Elder teaches Pim a lesson. It is one of my favourites. He provides her the opportunity to make her own choices. Something she hasn't had the chance to do in a very long time. The power of choices is certainly a theme explored by Ms. Winters. The choice to run, to follow and even to trust. And with those choices, there are the consequences.

At last!! After reading Pennies I needed this book so much, and now I have read it I need the next book, Hundreds even more! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars as it deserves more!
It started where book 1 finished and the story just got better. I don't want to say much about it as it's one you really have to read yourself. I was sucked in from the first sentence and did not or should I say COULD not put it down until the end.
I love the characters and I'm loving the relationship that's growing between Elder and Pim. I just hope with all my heart it continues to grow. In book 1 Elder stole Pim from the existence she lived of which she was tortured, used and abused to the point of near death, and this is where the story continues...
So I urge you to one click Pennies if you haven't already and get started on this already fantastic series! I think this will definitely be going down as one of my favourite series!

I couldn't wait for this book after reading Pennies (if you haven't read it you must before reading Dollars) Elder is a fascinating character. the ever growing relationship between Pim and Elder is a battlefield of emotions as they both struggle for the light and freedom from their pasts I just couldn't put it down til i reached the end which left me hanging over a cliff.
NOW i am counting down the day until Hundred$ comes out, It will be an excruciating and painfully wait. If i could give it more than 5 stars i surely would. I have said it before and i am sure i will say it again Pepper Winters NEVER disappoints!
