Product Description

Nico met the love of his life when he was seventeen.

Immediately, he realizes that the gap in their ages is too significant to make a move on her until she’s legal in the eyes of the law. So he joins the United States Navy, killing time until he can come home to her again.

But a tragedy strikes while Georgia is alone and vulnerable, and with no other recourse, Georgia leaves, disappearing without a trace.

After months of searching, he finds her, but quickly realizes that she needs the time to herself to work out her problems on her own.

So he leaves her be, knowing that if she ever felt anything for him, she’d come back home to him.

But it takes her years to return, and in those years, Nico changes, too.

He’s seen too much. Done too much. Lost too much.

He lives his life as a SWAT officer for KPD, goes through the motions of everyday life, but only as half a man. And not even the good half. The US military saw to that.

When the two finally come back together, one question remains. Will she love him as the man he is now, or leave him because he’s not the same man he used to be?

1.0 out of 5 stars Why all the stellar reviews??? July 12 2015

I am literally confused with all the good reviews on here. And frankly, my trust in reviews is shaky at best!

Time jumps and lack of detail or transitions killed me. I couldn't keep up with anything. It was like there was 100 stories going on in one story. This one book could have been 4 books and probably would have been better off that way. None of the settings were described well, if at all, so you couldn't really place the scene.

The writing was immature and wordy with not much need. A sentence would be stated and then reiterated with an immaturity to it yet key details were over looked and characters had a lack of development.

The h was lame. Her thought process for stuff was SO IMMATURE. She would concede and not fight about anything but then at one point ignored the H for three days .. What? Why? She completely conceded to him and then randomly threw a fit.

They were devout Catholics???? What???? Uhm no. None of that was SHOWN!! They just kept saying they were. It made ZERO sense.

The h's brother apparently had a sordid past - which is why they moved back home - and the family was willing to kick him out after everything they had been thru??? You didn't get to see the h even fight a little.

H died? Time jump? Then everyone knew about it? Then h bugged places to find out the truth that he was actually in witsec??? Then he would visit her at night?? No THATS NOT HOW ANY OF THIS WORKS! what the hell.

The book has good ideas, it does, but Jesus it was so painful to read. It was bumpy and childish and just felt more like a long summary than a real good detailed book!

I HATE giving bad reviews but wow. Wow. Wow. I could barley make it thru this and really only did so I could leave a review and warn others.

Very different than previous books by this author. Did not even read the excerpt for the next book. Every book always has an unplanned pregnancy and other similarities... But this story was horrible!

5.0 out of 5 stars Different, but good different! June 18 2015

I have to say that I loved this book. It was such an easy and sweet read. I will agree some others that said this book was different than her others. But I don't think that is a bad thing, especially if the story line is good. I think the only way to describe the book is calm. The hero and heroine were different than usually, both were rather relaxed and meshed so well. It doesn't quite have the comedy as the others, but I think after a while I get tired of them all being the same and every girl being so loud and blunt. Georgia had a hard hand dealt to her, but she overcame and still went after what she wanted in life. And Nico, gosh what to say about him. He was so amazing. I loved that he wanted Georgia from the beginning and never let anything deter him from that. And the biggest difference between him and almost every hero out there was that he was not a man whore, and saved the most important part of himself for her. As shocking and maybe unbelievable as that is, it was fantastic for me to read. I loved all of Nico's friends and family and I can't wait to read more about them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! Lani Lynn Vale has done it again. June 4 2015

Nicolas "Nico" Pena has a big happy family. When he is seventeen he meets the girl that he wants for his forever. He just needed to wait for her to grow up. Because of the age difference he
decides to join the Navy to get some distance. The unthinkable strikes Georgia's family and she runs. Nicolas decides to give her some space and time to deal with her pain. He hopes she will. return to him some day. He continues with his plans to proceed with his goal of becoming a navy seal. Time was not Nico's friend. While serving his country he has seen and done things that have begun to haunt him.
Georgia Brianne Valentine met her best friend when she was thirteen. They shared their love of soccer and they both had large families. Nikki and Georgia became fast friends. Through Nikki, Georgia met Nico, her older brother. She fell in love with him in the time it took him to pick up a soccer ball. She carried her crush for him for a long time. When Georgia was still young a horrific tragedy tore her existence apart. The situation was way too much for her to cope with and so she ran. She continued to stay away for many years. She was just making it day by day and trying to keep her family together.
After years of being apart Georgia and Nico are finally back home at the same time. When they see each other they still have the physical earnings for each other. But both have changed so much and they each fight their demons every day. They both want to connect but so many ghost are haunting them.
Double Tap is a story of love and the struggles of life when bad things happen. Sometimes the demons we struggle with will last for many years to come.
Another great job Lani Lynn Vale and what a great read. I love this series. Double Tap has heart. Thank you for your hard work.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a disappointment June 8 2015

This book doesn't even seem to be written by the same author. I couldn't finish it. It felt disjointed and almost as if I'd missed some of the side stories, even though I've read all of her other books. The writing just felt "off". It was super disappointing.
