Product Description

The Double Threat series follows Meg’s crazy world as she navigates high school. She finds love, loses love, finds it again all the while dealing with backstabbing friends, shitty dates, and the inevitable boy problems. She also has an amazing cast of friends who are funky, fun, witty, loyal, and downright goofy. Imagine the Pink Ladies in modern times. This is the Double Threat Crew!

* * *

After three years of broken hearts, back stabbing, lying, cheating, and fighting, Megan Miller and crew have finally made it to their senior year. They are ready to rule the school and show Carver High what the true meaning of being a double threat is, that is if they can manage to keep the drama out of their life. With Ben gone and Amy creating some waves, Meg feels like she is in over her head. What should be the year of prom, parties and memories, is quickly becoming the year of pressure and figuring what path you want your life to go on, and what it means when you may not have your friends by your side. With Alex and her parents' encouragement, watch as Meg learns sometimes just because you stand on your own two feet doesn't mean you won't be a Double Threat Forever.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm, pretty much a repeat of the other 3 books June 3 2014

Although I love the characters in this series, this book just had no substance. It was pretty much a repeat of everything that has happened throughout the series. Literally. They go to prom, they have Christmas, spring break, and hang out (not necessarily in that order). The only thing "New" that happened was that they had to decide what college to go to. I'm not even sure if there was a plot in this book. If there was I guess I missed it.
The only thing I liked about this book was the characters but they were not even enough to get me to enjoy this book. The teachers constantly getting thrown in the story was just pointless and the relationship between the students and teachers was just unprofessional. I get she is trying to pull others towards her spin-off series, but it just came off as weird and out of nowhere in this book.
Very disappointed in this book, was really hoping for something new in this last book, but it felt like a copy and paste of the first three. I am definitely in the minority here with my opinion and rating, so maybe others love the characters enough not to be irritated by these things. This worked for me the first three books, but I just couldn't let it slide again in this final installment.
The formatting is still horrible and this has been a major issue in each book, so don't expect to know when scenes are changing from sentence to sentence.
2 stars for great characters
5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful! Feb. 6 2014

Every now and again, I read a book that sticks with me for days or weeks after reading it. Well, this WHOLE series has stuck with me. I picked up So, I'm a Double Threat b/c it was free, and it was a wonderful decision. I have laughed, cried, and cussed while reading these 4 books. This fourth one was the real tear jerker for me though. I love all of the characters and they became almost like my friends... I was invested in them, and their decisions and happiness. I really wanted them all to stick together and go on to the same college, but that's not really how life works, and it wasn't how it happened, although some were together, but some went their own way. I kinda wish that Megan had given Travis a shot in book 2, but in the end it all worked out. I'm glad that he found someone that made him happy. And, of course Megan and Alex were perfect together. It has been awhile since I was in high school, but not so long that I have forgotten how things are, and I know it doesn't always work out with long distance couples the way that it did for Megan and Alex, but it was nice to get a happy ending out of it. Some real life drama happening, with Amy and the abortion, and Ben and Travis going into the military. The underage drinking... lol... It totally cracked me up that Megan's mom was such a huge NKOTB fan... :) These books were the first time that I had tried this author, and I have seen her Against the Wall series and how it is a spin off of these, so I may give them a try. I really like her writing style, her words and the way the scenes are flow very much how life does. I have found myself hearing a lot of the stuff that I have read in her books, and actually have said and done some of this stuff, so it takes me back.
5.0 out of 5 stars Loved Every Minute Aug. 7 2013

I read both this series and the Against the Wall series and fall in love with all of the characters. I read the Against the Wall series first (good thing too since they are also in the 3rd and 4th books of the the Double Threat series). I couldn't put my Kindle down the whole time. I took it everywhere and was reading this series. It took me about 5 and a half days to finish it. So here goes...

I loved Megan's character. I thought she was hilarious. Her group of friends remind me a lot of my group. Except for the fact that my group was formed in college. It feels like I've known them since kindergarten. She was such a great friend and I was so happy that her and Alex, while technically not together, were together and still waited until after graduation to get together. You don't see that very often anymore. I really applaud Julie Prestsater on not going with the new norm.

The other characters just added to the humor. There were many times throughout the books that I was laughing so hard at her friends and the parents. At one point, I almost fell off of my couch I was laughing so hard. Yet there were many times that I was bawling my eyes. I have a job where I am able to read at work right now, and I caught myself fighting off the tears at work when guests would walk in. I even recommended the book series to a couple of them. Both series.

If you are grammar, punctuation, etc. like I am, be warned, I did find a few errors in there, but it's not so bad that you find yourself counting all the mistakes and getting lost from the book.

I definitely give this book and the others in the series 5 stars!
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Series April 13 2014
By Love a great book! - Published on Amazon.com

These four books were truly amazing. The writing was top notch and even though it's a much younger age group than I fall into, it brings you back to the glory (and sometimes not so glory) days of high school, falling in love and developing long term friendships. The books focused on a small group of friends that grew into a large group of amazing people who would do anything for each other. I loved the main H, Alex and the main h, Megan, but all of the characters were a perfect contribution to the books. This series will be on my read again and again list. The author had the best epilogue I've ever read giving the readers not only the HEA, but the HEA that lasts for decades. You won't be let down by this series!

The author also has an "Against the Wall" series with the teachers that have their romantic tales being told which is a great way to read about more mature characters if you feel like you need to have a breather from the teen theme.
3.0 out of 5 stars This series had a good plot. I loved how it showed that love ... Nov. 7 2016

This series had a good plot. I loved how it showed that love can overcome obstacles that get in the way. It also shows how tough high school can be for kids and the challenges that face them in everyday life.
The only draw back from this series is the language. I had to skip over so much. I wanted to read the series because my granddaughter wanted to. After reading it though, we will move on to something else. Not all teens have such a filthy mouth and she will NOT be reading this.
