Product Description

Fighter.

I've always been a fighter,
Even before I knew it was in my blood.
I fought the demons of my past.
I fought for my life.
I fought for the future I wanted.

Growing up in a foster home, after my father killed my mother,
I fought for who I was,
Who I could become.

And now, it's what I do, what I am.
My career is in the ring, taking down every opponent I face,
Every enemy who threatens me.
I fight.

But now, I've got the biggest fight of my life,
Fighting for her, the one I want,
The one I can't have.
Salem Harris is taken, but I swear to God,
She'll be mine, even if I go down for the count,
I'll fight like Hell for her,
Or die trying.

This is the story of Gabe "the saint" Vega and boy what a story it was. From a troubled past to boxing to fighting for the girl we wants but can't really have, I was captivated by "the saint"'s story and couldn't wait to see where it was going! This book is full of angst, hotness and alpha goodness and an ending that will leave you waiting very impatiently for the next.

4.0 out of 5 stars I needed more!! March 21 2014

Just as I was getting into the story it stopped. Just stopped!! Don't get me wrong the story line was great! I enjoyed reading about Saint and Salem and watching their relationship grow and change. But then as it was getting good.... Bam..... nothing! The story just stopped. I would have rather waited for book 2 and read them together. If you like open ended books go for it but if you are like me and hate that - wait till book 2.

4.0 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️opposites ignite Oct. 3 2016

I'm not sure how much I picked this two part story up for but I'd say I definitely got bang for my buck.

This title was not rushed. The pace of the story let it unfold without feeling dragged out.

Rich girl meets boxer from other side of the tracks but who has his head screwed on. Secondary storylines could've been played out a tad fuller (Jimmy/Steph and what was the go with Jocelyn - a story there to be sure).

I did remember reacting to main characters being short of stature but figured there are short people😉

Easy to read writing style and I enjoyed the fact that everything didn't end up all sunshine and roses because life sucks some times and those stories need telling too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saint and Salem. Feb. 27 2014

I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I truly love this book! Christa blows me away with her characters and depth of the story she tells. Gabriel is probably one of my favorite fictional males and especially in the whole " fighter " category. We meet Gabriel and his brother when they are children. Tragedy is their lives and when something tragic happens they are left to foster care. Sadly Gabriel is separated from his brother. He found an outlet for all that anger, aggression, disappointment, hurt basically all emotions period and he found that in fighting. Frankie took him in and was like a father to him and showed him a better way to channel that anger he had in his heart and head. In walks Salem and it turns his world upside down. Gabriel is used to getting what he wants. But with Salem he learns fast that she isn't what she appears to be and she is taken, and not be no one either. Someone that can change things drastically for Gabriel. But he cannot help how attracted he is to Salem, she bewitches him. These two form a connection over time and find it hard to fight their attraction. But Gabriel has a temper and sometimes it's hard for him to keep that in check. Can these two make it work? or are they doomed from the start?

This is action packed with everything you want in a story. Action, hot guys, extreme hotness overload, love, lust it just has everything and it is truly an amazing book. That is pretty much all I can give away at this time, but trust me. You will LOVE IT!
Well done Christa, well done! I just want to say I am proud of this woman. This book is her own! it's all her, if you know her you at all you will feel her presence in this book and feel her in it .She poured her heart and soul into it and I just want her to know that I am proud of her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable March 29 2014

This is the first book I have read about a boxer and I wasn't sure I would like it. Well once I started I was instantly in love with Saint. His heartbreaking background from growing up in an abusive family and losing touch with his only sibling draws you into his world.
His instant attraction for Salem is quite entertaining at how the two of them interact with each other. I can't wait to see how the direction of these two characters go in the next book. Christa does an amazing job at telling the story. Looking forward to reading Going The Distance. You did a great job with this book!!! I need more of Saint's story!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read March 1 2014

Gabriel The Saint found boxing to keep him on the straight and narrow. He is a great fighter and lover. He is no short supply of woman. He meets Salem and things take a turn for him. The relationship between these two does not start like most. She is the girlfriend of the man who is promoting him for a championship fight. The only thing I wish there was more a little more fighting in the book. But I did enjoy the banter between these and will read the second book
