Format: Hardcover
This is a perfect first counting book. Our 8 month old grandaughter loves the book and giggles when it is being read to here by her five year old sister or an adult. She loves the illustrations and the cadence of the rhyme.
Young children can not have too many first counting books and this one in particular introduces the child to nature through beautiful rhyme and illustrations; particularly special for any child that spends time near the sea or in the great outdoors.

HASH(0xa29cabe4) out of 5 stars A taste of the Maine coast for the little ones Nov. 2 2011

Format: Hardcover
A delightful book! We live on an island in Down East Maine, and this is the first book we've seen that so perfectly captures the critters around us. Our little grandchildren love to see the seals, lobsters, and birds when they visit, and now they can take them home with them! The rhymes are charming and musical -- and there's even a little song at the end. Highly recommended!

A must buy for all of your little sea animal lovers. The rhymes are perfect for all age readers. The illustrations are very realistic and beautiful. My granddaughters are just learning to count and this is an excellent book to help them learn their numbers. Maine is a beautiful background for this book...a truly engaging book.

By Charlotte's Mom - Published on
Format: Hardcover
Charlotte receive an autographed copy of Down East in the Ocean and she LOVES it! The rhyming and counting keep this 2 year old excited to turn to the next page. The animals are beautifully illustrated and Charlotte loves to count them on each page. Now if I could only play the piano and play the song that goes along with the book! So happy to have this book apart of our library at home!
