We all loved and followed with passion Downton... unfortunately! The aficionados would have liked more. So I enjoyed very much as well this video. Even at the end of the series, the episodes bring us suspense and lots of emotions, while the story moves to its end through still unpredictable twists. Lots of passion, lots of drama, lots of love, lots of very subtle pshychological nuances in these fascinating charaters, lots of problems and disappointments, lots of surprises, lots of happiness and also the inevitable sadness of life. But we depart from these people and their stories with a good feeling in our heart. Till the end the enjoyment is at its fullness because till the end the characters give us an excellent performance, and touch all and the deepest human feelings.

This grand finale of the best movie series we have ever watched, is superb in every respect. The sets, the acting, the costuming, the photography, the storyline, the attention to historic detail - all the best. Our only regret is that this fabulous drama has come to an end.

Julian Fellowes is a master at story telling and screen writing. I cannot imagine what he might do now, to follow Downton Abbey, but he just might surprise us with a story that's equal to, or even better than Downton.

All the loose ends, the unresolved relationship problems, and the irritating character flaws are brought to a satisfying conclusion in this finale. Though we know that we'll miss the yearly offering of first class drama, we can rest in knowing that all the people we've grown to like or even love, have come to a place of hope, and for some, joy and peace as well. Highly recommended.

Not as good as some of the other seasons because we could see the ending coming. Lady Mary and the tall Talbot guy were so mismatched, it's pathetic. And a poor actor at that too. Happy for Lady Edith who was due for some love and joy. Thrilled for Mr. Barrow and good riddance to that Carson bully who thought he was royalty. Wish he had disappeared a couple of seasons ago. More room for new faces and less people being humiliated. All in all Downton Abbey was a great show, the likes of it never seen before. No vulgarities, no boring explicit sex, no offensive language and in general, very well cast and ever so beautifully written. The cast and crew and executive deserve our congratulations and a well deserved rest.

A wonderful end to the fabulous Downton Abbey series. It is with great sadness to have the knowledge that this is the final season of Downton Abbey. We have watched, spellbound, from the first episode of Season one, to the last episode of Season 6.. That a wonderful series it has been and I am sure that there many thousands of faithful Downton Abbey followers who share our sentiments. Thank you so much to all the actors and everybody else who had a part in creating this never-to-be forgotten story. Thank you also to our Public Television stations for carrying this unique look into the lives of people in Downton Abbey from 1912 to 1926 or thereabouts. Not only was the series entertaining, it was a great learning experience to study the "history" of the times.

I loved it. I did find the season a little rushed as it seemed Julian Fellows was trying to tie up a lot of loose ends with the characters though. I will miss the series. I am glad I bought them all as they were released. A series I would be comfortable with watching again and again.

The year long wait for the new Downton series always seems like an age, especially this year as we knew that it would be the last ever series. It seems perverse that such a successful series has had to end, however, as the incomparable Maggie Smith said, if you work it out I should be about 110 years old by now! A slight exaggeration, but you can see where she is coming from since Downton has run from about the time of the Titanic disaster in 1912 all the way to 1925.

The TV series has now finished in the UK and for those of you waiting for the North American showing or DVD, it was an absolute cracker and if you enjoyed the first five series of Downton, you are not going to be disappointed with the final series. As would be expected, there was a certain amount of tying up of loose ends, but not to an excessive extent. However we still have the Christmas Special show to air at the end of next month so everyone is waiting in suspense for the final conclusion. Incidentally if you are impatient to see the last series, although the UK issue is released this month, that will not contain the 2015 Christmas Special whereas the later North American release will.

It is difficult to single out the outstanding performances in series 6 as all the regular players had significant roles. It was good to see Tom back, and others such as Mrs Patmore, The Bates, Barrow, and Daisy below stairs and, of course, all the Crawley family are in the thick of things. Maggie Smith, as the Dowager is very much in evidence and her priceless sarcasm includes many a memorable line. Overall, without dropping in any spoilers, there was romance, tragedy, blackmail, suspense, joy and sorrow. In other words exactly what you would expect from Downton!
