In terms of Technical Fighting, this game lacks by construction play around chaining combos with the two physical attack buttons. You also have Chi charge metre that when filled allows you to chain super moves on the ends of your combos. Perhaps Capcom has spoiled us with the option to just use your super combo as you like when you have powered up enough, but having to chain my full powered Hell Grenade after 5-6 six other hits that are the same every single time I use them, stops being fun quick. Certainly seeing the dramatic cut scene for each move is great fan service, and again looks so great, and the fact that there are so many characters also makes this an engaging practice (if you can mange to unlock them all), but when all is said and done the process gets boring quick. Presently the only thing that keeps me playing is the unlocks because there are simply so many and I am a completionist. When you get down to it, though the presentation of this game is amazing and it showcases some of the most beautiful anime style gameplay on the 3DS to date, the game itself just isn't fun. I recommend it to any Dragon Ball Z fan, but warn you that this is big on style and low and playing substance.
Those that pre-ordered this game got nothing. Even the pictures advertising the content of what was to be received for pre-ordering have been removed. Disappointed about that.
Get this product for what it is. A fast paced dbz game littered with cameos and unlockables. For those that complained about there being only 25 playable charaters, ask yourself...Is Babadi someone YOU wanna play as? How about Dodoria? Exactly! The only characters that are worth playing as are the mainstays of the series. Yes, SSJ4 Vegeta would be fun, but when you pull characters into that category, its messy. And OP characters arent that fun when a battle ends in seconds.
Buy it, just not from here.
But, i never got my pre-order bonus
Both character assists and the Butoden 2 game that the picture said i'd get for pre-ordering on Amazon

An embarrassment of a game. Too few playable characters and incredibly repetitive story mode. Just an empty game. Avoid at all cost!Published 4 months ago by Jay Gatsby
The day has come. I've been waiting for a Dragon Ball Z game for 3DS and to be honest, l'm surprised it hasn't arrived sooner. Read morePublished 8 months ago by T. Skylar
Game is solid. I'm mad they amazon.ca advertised the pre-order bonuses, only to find out they had none of them (not even the basic ones other stores had).Published 8 months ago by Scott Rempel
