Product Description

Sheltered by an overprotective family, Amy Sager—a shy twenty something poet from Canada—just wanted to break out of her shell and be free to live her own life. What better way to assert her new found independence than by moving to San Francisco?
However, when she meets a tall, blood-drenched stranger she gets more than she bargained for. Jackie is everything she should never want. Violence, lies, and even murder taint this strange man, but she finds herself irresistibly drawn to him…like a moth to flame.
When their relationship strains her loyalty and his livelihood, it isn't long before violence consumes her independence and Amy’s quest for freedom turns into just another story of a good girl caught on the wrong side of the tracks, too far gone to turn back.

HASH(0x997e2f54) out of 5 stars I really liked Sky's character Dec 8 2015

I've read the previous unpublished version of Dragonfly over the summer. So I wasn't in the hugest hurry to read the new shiny published version.
So it's been sitting on kindle, waiting for me to finish up a few books I've previously started.
And OH MY GOD WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?!
I finished Dragonfly in one sitting. Four hour; no food, no bathroom break, no nothing expect Dragonfly.

Lana Sky has done it again! I've yet to discover a author who can pull off being a poet, ballerina, heiress, etc, so flawlessly and believable.

Her uncanny ability to write interesting and love-able characters. She can write a naïve, virginal, weak heroine that you will absolutely adore and relate to. And every hero she creates automatically gets put into my book-boyfriend folder.

Now onto the actual review of this book!

It's getting to the point that I have some clear expectations where a book by this author is concerned. Lots of sexual tension, interesting dark and gritty settings, and hot hot sex.

I really liked Sky's character; Jackie in this story. The dark-gangster-antihero was an interesting characteristic that gives the reader the background to understanding why he is the man that he is today.

Amy is a sheltered, innocent, poet living in the seedy area of China Town, San Francisco. Amy spent her life doing what she's been told. She is sick and tired of being passive. She wants to make her own choices. I loved watching her let herself go and just feel with him. It took a lot for her to stop worrying about what others might think and fear.

This book was spot on with a interesting plot and just enough steam. From the start, their attractation is strong. The sexual tension kept growing and growing!

My only complaint with this book is;
There wasn't enough sex! I needed more steamy, dirty scenes.
And it ended way too early! Don't get me wrong, this didn't end in a cliffhanger. But there's definitely a "unfinished" feeling to this book. I know there's going to be a sequel "Moth". But there's been no announcements to when that will be released.

The safety score of this book is completely safe! No OW or OM drama. The only thing I can see where someone might have a problem is that the hero definitely pushes away. But so does the heroine. Equal pushing away.

This book earn 10+++++++ stars!

Format: Kindle Edition
This is an intensely dark romance that takes a deep look into the violent and dangerous nature

of gang life. Amy finds herself drawn to the darkness and can’t seem to stop herself from putting herself

into dangerous situations. She’s recently moved to San Francisco into a dangerous neighborhood

plagued with criminal activity and gang turf wars. She’s tired of the over protectiveness she’s

experienced from those who’ve sheltered her throughout her life and is rebelling against the safe and

quiet existence she’s been living up until now. She’s looking for an outlet to help her feel alive and she

finds just that in the sexy and mysterious stranger that walks into the noodle house while she’s reciting

her poetry during open mike night. While she’s craving something more to help her feel her blood

pumping through her veins, she gets in way over her head when she pokes her nose into the middle of a

dangerous and life threatening turf war between two rivaling gang families. Before she knows it her

entire life has taken a drastic turn and her life is on the line and in the hands of the sexy stranger. Jackie

is an enforcer for one of the gang families and is the one sent out to rough up those who are not

producing their payments quickly enough to his boss. He is drawn to Amy’s light in his dark world and

calls her his dragonfly since she flits about sticking her nose into dangerous situations. The chemistry

between the two is off the charts explosive and even somewhat violent in nature at times and it is

definitely intense to read. They come together so hot and intense that sparks literally fly off the pages

and they can’t seem to stay away from each other.

Reading this gave me an informative look into the dark and vile nature of gang life and I found

myself feeling sorry for Jackie and the life he’s been forced to live. He was faced with the decision to do

the things he does in order to survive and to save his sister from some of the depravity that he’s

endured and I found that I admired his desire to protect his little sister and my heart broke for the little

boy who was made to live such a cold and brutal life with no other choices if he wished to survive. I

must admit that while I can understand being bored with one’s current life and wanting something new

and exciting to happen, I did find it a bit difficult to understand where Amy was coming from with her

intense need for the darkness and dangerous situations and I found it a bit difficult to relate with her

character as a result. This didn’t take away from the story at all for me however and I enjoyed every

second of reading this book. I found this story to be highly intense, action packed, very interesting and

highly recommend it to anyone to read!
HASH(0x997e53d8) out of 5 stars Butterfly..... FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK!! Nov. 14 2015

I received an ARC of "Dragonfly" from Lana Sky, in exchange for an honest review.

I can honestly say, that although I received an ARC of this, I'd promptly pre-ordered it once it was available. I was NOT not going have the official copy.

HOLY COW, I just finished this seriously dark read by miss Lana Sky, WOW, I'm blown away. I'd previously read a snippet via the Malice newsletters & was intrigued then. But now, having read it to it's end..... I'm not really sure how I'm going to put into words, just how FREAKING AMAZING this book was. I just FLOVED Jackie as a character, not only is he a mystery, but that mystery unravels slowly once he learns to trust (although I'm not sure that is the right word) in Amy. Then Amy, sheltered, drowning Amy, seems to fall apart & grow into something new, something although coping with the violence around her, is still her. Damn I'm not sure if that makes sense.

I loved how we start in the now & then work our way from the first meeting with Jackie, until we get to the present again. What a ride it was, filled with the secrets of both, finding out the truths, the hidden underbelly of San Fransisco soon rushes forth... dragging you in, until you can't beathe along with Amy. Until you too are caught in the web.

If you FLOVE dark, gritty reads, then this is for you. I FLOVED it, I couldn't put it down, I wish it was longer.

Amy is a fantastic character who is Canadian, and falls for a man that runs with gangs. The story is fast paced, and easily one of my new favorites. Thanks very much to the author for an amazing romance that took my breath away!

The only complaint I have about this book is the ending. For me, at least, it ended too abruptly. Would have liked to have had some closure.
