Built to be Compact and Comfortable
Thanks to its lightweight design, the Dremel MiniMite cordless two-speed rotary tool is ideal for working on delicate projects. Weighing 1.4 pounds, this tool features a pencil-grip nose and soft-grip sides for secure handling. Because it's only eight inches long, it is comfortable to hold and use for as long as you need.

Multiple Attachments and Speeds for All Your Project Needs
Included with the Dremel 7300-N/8 rotary tool are three sanding drums, a felt wheel, sanding band, mandrel, and silicon carbine stone. The included wrench makes changing accessories quick and easy.

The blue switch on the housing lets you move from low to high speed, while the separate off option helps you avoid accidentally changing speed settings while you work. Because this tool offers two different speeds, you're able to fully control the accuracy--and outcome--of your work.

Cordless for Convenience
No more searching for power outlets--this tool gives you 4.8 volts of battery power, so you can work wherever you need to. The battery pack can be removed from the housing and popped into the charger--the rotary tool will be ready to go within three hours. As an added convenience, a bright LED indicates when the battery has been properly placed on the charger.

The Dremel 7300-N/8 MiniMite cordless two-speed rotary tool is backed by a manufacturer's limited two-year warranty.

I cannot recommend this enough. After 14 years of arguing and wrestling with my dog to trim her nails, I tried one of these. After her third cutting she now sits in front of me and puts out her paw to have them done. You have to be careful to only grind in short bursts and check you are not going too deep, but we went from overgrown nails to nice and trim in a month. The extra time was necessary to let the quick recede. I would recommend looking through a process on how to familiarize the dog with the tool, Ie letting them smell it everynight for a week, then let them hear it on as well before attempting any grinding. There will still be some discomfort for the dog but positive reinforcement and your attitude will go along way to helping poochykins with their nails.

We use it to trim our dogs paws. He always hated having his nails clipped, but this works very well. Here are tips based on my use:

1) Wear glasses when you use it - nail bits sometimes fly at your face;
2) Trim your dog's paws. It once got stuck in his paw hair and it took a while to get him okay with using it again;
3) Take your time - it can get hot if you go nuts on a nail
4) Apply some pressure - At first I thought it wasn't going to work, but I gripped the nail a bit better and applied a bit more pressure when I was filing the nail, started to trim very quickly.

Good luck!

Arrived a couple days after ordering in perfect condition. Good price and works well. Seems everyone buys this to trim pet nails but I use it to trim callus's that keep growing back. It works great for that on the low speed and the battery lasts quite a while (more than I need). It has less power than an electric Dremel which means I won't burn a hole in my skin if I make a mistake. It's small, lightweight, portable, use it anywhere. My only complaint if any is that they shaped the battery to support the tool upright as shown in the photo. It would be more comfortable to hold if it were rounded. Has a two year warranty which is nice.

Fantastic dremel. I actually had an older edition of this used exclusivly for grinding my dogs nail but became unresponsive when the battery connector ozidixed. I did not use this for any other purpose.

Comes with 2 speed level, with various bits for different purposes (only have expereince with the sand belt). As mentioned, used for dog grinding only and works great. I only use low speed though to prevent overheating. Alot cheaper than getting dog specific grindings. Please do watch out if you are going to be using it for this purpose to not catch your dog hair on it as it will pull it right off.

In package, it does come with a sizable charger that you need to dismount the battery from and to in order to charge, can be a hassle but better than cable I suppose.

Overall, for dog usage, I would personally purchase again. Amazon also seemed to have a better pricing than in store

Dremel should really just market this as a tool for trimming dog nails. It's great, the battery lasts, no cords to get snagged with.

I've noticed the coarser bit works best on my Great Dane's nails. We started with the finer paper, but it just took too long. More vibration with the coarser stuff, but it gets the job done much faster.

Edit: Two years later, and we're replacing the Dremel (with the exact same Dremel). The bit doesn't fit properly anymore. Need a whole new tool, not just to replace the bit.

This is an excellent product for trimming pet nails. The tool is very quiet at low speed and the battery stays charged for a very reasonable length of time. The price through Amazon was the lowest I could find. The product was delivered prior to the expected delivery date.

Jan 2013 - have been using this tool every week since it arrived to do pet nails and it works just great. I recharge it for 3 hours after every 2nd use.

Nice little unit for light jobs. It runs smoothly and has decent power for it's size. I have a corded one for larger longer jobs but will use this for any small jobs like cutting off a nail or grinding out a door jamb.

This has been my "go to" for as long as I can remember. Over the years I have used 7 different friends "rotary tools" (corded and battery) on their animals, they were all awful: vibration made my hand numb, noise was awful and upset animals, and they got uncomfortably hot in my hand.

This unit is shockingly quiet in comparison, never heats up, and never makes my hand go numb. I have ten dogs of my own and swear the bulk of my dinner invites are so I will bring the wonder tool and do their dogs nails!

Perhaps this is not ideal for wood or metal work as some complain about "power" but it is called the MiniMite!

Buying two, or an extra battery as I did means I never run out of juice.
P.S. my vet just borrowed mine to do bird beaks and nails - she too was thrilled! I am buying her one as a gift right now!

Update June 2016: still love it, what more can I say, it's perfect. Please let me know if you found this helpful or if you have further questions.
