There is a good variety of recipes and all sorts of interesting meat types included. Highly recommend this book.
The text is explanatory and straightforward. There's no fluff, and the author clearly has experience with all of the topics covered in this book. There are also plenty of clear, full-color photos not just for showing off the recipes, but for showing you unmistakably where and how, for example, to cut and wrap a bottom round or a rack of ribs. The book also covers, in a very graspable, non-scientific way, topics like aging meat. There are OTHER books that will get you down "in the weeds" if you want to read chapter after chapter about the exacting details of butchery or the minutiae of what's going on at the molecular level when aging meat in various conditions. However, if you just want to do it and do it right the first time with a solid, basic understanding of what to do, and get some amazing new recipes for your wild game, this book is definitely for you.
The various how-to sections (knife sharpening, field dressing wild game, etc) may also be appreciated by new hunters.
