Finding the Cure for Sexual Addiction
The sheer number of people mired in the destructive world of online pornography is overwhelming. Every day lives are broken, hearts and minds are corrupted. How can we help free the many hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of people trapped by sexual addiction?
In Eyes of Integrity, Craig Gross and Jason Harper offer a helping hand to husbands and wives, teens, concerned friends, and anyone personally struggling with pornography or sexual addiction. In these pages you will discover just how serious the problem is--and what can be done about it. From porn-proofing your home and nurturing your marriage to what to do when someone you know is in trouble, the chapters in this book offer real hope in what can seem like a hopeless situation.

There are those who have a heart for people involved in or going through very tough times. They are Christians , Pastors, and others who have compassion and desire to serve people facing life altering events. For instance, those working in Hospice Care, Prison Ministry, and other tough areas.
Craig Gross is one these people. His ministry is speaking, writing, debating others in the porn industry. To focus your life and work on an area that should be addressed by the Church but often is not, such as sexual addiction and pornography, takes a special calling - a special kind of grace.
I requested `Eyes of Integrity: The Porn Pandemic and How it Affects You' by Craig Gross of "FireProof Ministries" as research on a writing project. I am not sure what I expected from Craig Gross but I can tell you his heart is for those caught up in the porn industry.
I am not sure I agree with many of his techniques such as going to porn conferences, and engaging others who advocate porn as a legitimate industry, some language used in many of his articles, and writing and speaking openly about sub-categories of the porn industry but I do not doubt his heart to reach the people caught up in sexual addition.
This book is a wake up call to us all. It contains first a look at the issue of pornography by providing some eye-opening statistics. After reading that 47% of Christians actively engage in pornography, I looked at the congregation of my Church in a very different light knowing that books such as these are needed.
The rest of the books focuses on accountability and stresses that sexual addictions cannot be overcome alone noting the two criteria needed: confess it to God and confess (and become accountable) to another. Also included are several resources that direct the reader how to identify a sexual addition, how to respond, where to seek help, and basically repeating the gospel that God is the only hope in overcoming sexual addiction.
Included also is a CD resource with a video message from Craig Gross and an offer for the accountability software his organization has developed called SafeEyes.
The review copies of this book were provided free of charge by Baker Books and donated to the Celebrate Recovery Ministry and the Youth Ministry of Westwood Baptist Church.
