5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious recipes for easy meals and helpful freezing tips Jan. 21 2015
By Ali - Published on
Great recipes for meals which will save you time and hassle. I often struggle with preparing healthy meals when I'm hungry and preparing meals in advance like this is something I need to be doing. Loved the "Mom's Kick Me Silly Chili" recipe! Also the tips on keeping the freezer in tip top condition were very helpful along with the "safe freezing times" for different food groups.

Author Babs Avenel covers in detail how to successfully prepare easy freezer meals. Lots of good tips for experienced and beginners alike. I am going to try the spicy chicken strips recipe later today. Clearly written and well organized, my only criticism is that I wished there were more than 15 recipes!
4.0 out of 5 stars Small change in cooking routine, big impact Feb. 19 2016

I’m a student who is working part time to make a living, and always out to find new ways to optimize my busy schedule and minimizing time and effort for my daily tasks while keeping the costs low. Having been on a fast-food diet for years, needless to say, my waist got bigger with each semester, while the same thing couldnt be said for my wallet.
Reading this book literally helped to transform a menial yet integral part of my daily life from an expensive, unhealthy hustle into a healthy, cost effective, and most of all, time saving daily routine.
Its amazing how a small change in your daily ways can save you money and time, and moreover, make you healthier overall. Since reading the book and getting into the habit of pre-cooking all of my meals and freezing them, I have even lost three pounds of weight. I have only been doing this for less than two weeks now, but I hope sticking with this will help me to cut down on my weight consistently.

I wanted to get my hands on this book in order to be able to prepare some healthy freezer meals. I consider myself as someone who is really into being healthy and staying fit, and maintaining a proper diet is a huge component to this lifestyle. What is really great about this book is that these freezer meals are quick and easy to make. If you are on the go a lot and don't have much time to really cook, this recipe book is perfect for you. The author outlines several easy to follow recipes, and the best part is that everything taste great. Out of all the meals I have tried, my favorites are the peppery potato chowder, the spicy chicken strips and the pork roast empanadas. I definitely look forward to trying more! Get this book if you are looking for some quick, but healthy meals.

The tips provided are the most appreciable thing done in this book. Before you start preparing freezer meals, it's for the best if you de-frost your freezer, in case you haven't done so recently. The best place to keep the food once you take it out of the freezer is in your microwave or oven to thaw out before you start heating it on the stovetop. If you can't do that for whatever reason, you can also leave them in your refrigerator a half day or so ahead of time to thaw while you get to work on other stuff.
