Product Description

From the Inside Flap

Imagine Being Pulled Into the Hereafter. While You're Still Alive.
A disillusioned business executive whose life has hit a dead-end, Nick Seagrave has lost loved ones to tragedy and his family to neglect. Now, at a point of great crisis, he unbelievably and inexplicably finds himself transported to what appears to be another world.
Suddenly he's confronted with profoundly clear views of his own past and personality. At the same time, he's enabled to see, hear, taste, and smell the realities of both heaven and hell-realities that force him to face dangers and trials far greater than any he's known before.
Pitted against flying beasts, a monstrous web that threatens to hold him captive, an evil, brooding intelligence, and undeniable evidence of a spiritual world, Nick must finally consider the God he claims not to believe in.
Walking between two worlds, Nick Seagrave prepares to make decisions that will change his life forever, as he stands on the "Edge of Eternity.

I loved this book. It made me think about my life and role as a Christian in relation to my family, my friends and my coworkers. Reading this book has helped me to think of them from an eternal point of view so that now, I want even more to tell them about the Lion and the Lamb. I want them to know this Jesus who loves them so much that he suffered the nails for them. I hope that all Christians who read this book will not only like it for it's entertainment value, but will like it because it challenges them to be the believers God wants us to be: full of love and compassion, boldly speaking the Word of God with power, giving of ourselves through selfless service, and looking for that great reward when we have completed this journey here on Earth. This book has challenged me with more of a desire to live my faith and to see people as Christ sees them. It has also challenged me to continue to study God's Word so that I will be well equipped to handle everything that Satan may throw my way, as well as the trials and tribulations that God may allow me to go through.
I am no skilled writer, so I cannot judge the writing quality of this book. I just know that reading this book has made a difference in my life for the better.

At first, I found this book to be, at the beginning, somewhat confusing. I gradually realized however, that it was SUPPOSED to be confusing, because anyone that was whisked away from Earth and ended up in a cave in a foreign land WOULD be confused.
Here we have Nick Seagrave, a man who, we learn as we go along, has had quite a rough, self-centered life. As he emerges from the cave he wakes up in, he finds himself in quite a different world than the one he knows. He meets a group of people led by an eccentric, and generally unpleasant man named Shadrach, journeying on the Red Road. They encourage him to join them, and as he does, he learns about himself, his life, and reflects on what kind of man he's been. He also discovers more about the Chasm, the great pit that he comes across, and ultimately discovers mercy from the Chasm-Crosser.
It definitely helps to think of this as today's Pilgrim's Progress rather than a novel. It's an excellent allegory, and gives one a taste of the life that can be, and the life that one can escape. It has excellent parallels for today's Christian life, and gives a taste what the Christian life SHOULD be about from the standpoint of a man who has had bad experiences with the church. It makes Jesus, the Chasm-Crosser become REAL, shows His REAL mercy, his true love, and his REAL compassion in a very REAL way.
It has certainly made me want to strive all the more to serve the true King of this world, the one that loved me enough to die for me, just as much as he loves you enough to die for you.
I highly recommend it for any reader.

I finished reading this book two days ago and the vivid images burned in my mind from the book are still quite fresh. I felt as though I had just gotten off a roller coaster when I put the book down. The book just drew me in. I was on the planet Thuros walking alongside Nick Seagrave (the main character).
Nick Seagrave mysteriously appears on this planet with a red sun and two moons and embarks on an eventful journey on the red road to Charis. It is very reminiscent of Christian in The Pilgram's Progress. I found it to be very colorful and imaginative.
This book caused me to reflect on my relationship with the Creator of the universe (World Maker, the book calls Him). Edge of Eternity paints a beautiful picture of Christ's crucifixion and resurrection in a way that you would probably never imagine unless you read this book.
Is your Christian life lacking the luster you have seen in other Christian's lives? Are you feeling defeated by the world, your flesh, the devil? Read this book. It may change the way you look at your life. It may change the way you see God.
Excellent book!

Alcorn's style is superb! Edge Of Eternity was impossible to put down from the very start. The Christian theme is a masterpiece! I had to wonder if it was God's plan to have this book written...I believe it is so. This book blessed me in ways I cannot completely describe. It touches you with a deeper sense of the spiritual battles constantly taking place around us. I can only hope that Mr. Alcorn will write more books just like this one...and soon! You'll cry from joy and pain, laugh, rethink how your personal walk with the Lord is going, get your spiritual eyes opened wider and hunger for a closer walk. The whole plot is intriguing and so touching. You'll be able to relate to this work of art in your every day life. I consider this book one of the all time greats and is in my "Hall Of Fame" of books along with Piercing The Darkness, This Present Darkness, The Third Millennium and The Fourth Millinnium....with Edge of Eternity at the top! A really uplifting book because you can relate to it in so many ways. I have highly recommended this book to those who hunger to be closer to the Lord!

This book reads like your worse nightmare and your most beatific dream. Protagonist Nick Seagrave, an ex-Marine, Nam vet, and Mr. Tough Businessman is cast into a surreal world of windows and portals, instantly blending visions of beauty and delight with the horrors of hell. In utter helplessness he is chased by a brutal pterodactyl, cringing in a cave, where he reads a cryptic three-line message: "FORWARD" "RED ROAD HOME" "BE CAREFUL WHO YOU TRUST". His journey through this world of windows, and the people and spiritual beings he meets unfolds the story of the Fall of the Image-Bearers, the Price Paid for Redemption, the lies of the Pretender, and the ultimate Triumph of the King. You will find it hard to put this book down, and be utterly refreshed at the end as you were confused at the beginning. So spiritually uplifting, and a tale to cherish as we walk the red road home.
