This review is for the vinyl release of this album. Overall, this was a very disappointing release. The vinyl was advertised as deluxe but there is nothing even remotely special about these records. Standard album tracklist and minimal packaging. The cover looks like they scanned the CD and blew it up. Grainy and lacking any graphic detail. There are no inserts, only plain cheap paper sleeves for the vinyl. The pressing quality itself was adequate, and all that means is that my copy was relatively flat and centre. Sound of the music itself is flat and dull. Nothing audiophile about this transfer. It was likely sourced from DAT or at worst a CD. There is a little surface noise with the occasional pop or click, but nothing major. Unless you NEED to own this one I would recommend passing on this release, or look at the CD that at least comes with some extras. Yet another swing and a miss for UMe.

This album will likely become their best in a long line of albums within an illustrious career that has the band continuing their brand of Music; which is a melting pot of so many different styles of Music amalgamated over time and experience i.e. song writing. It's my favourite of theirs and I own and or have listened to all their past and current releases. I've seen them live as well and that's a whole other story! This is a great album and a fantastic introduction to the Tea Party catalog! Own this and know the band's sound and fury! Explore the other albums, if you must, but, again, this will likely be their "calling card" for sometime...IMHO, it truly defines them as a group and all that goes with that, like great songs, singing, musicianship and production! Ed Stasium, the producer of this record, states that it is one of his top 5 productions to date! It's the one I can continually go back to for listening pleasure. I can't say that for any of their other albums, so far...

EDIT: After reading the other good and bad reviews about this 2 LP edition, I needed to make some changes in mine.

This is a review for the deluxe edition on vinyl and not the music itself. The music deserve a 5 stars for sure and I rank this album as one of the best release of the 90's for a Canadian band.

It's a deluxe reissue, BUT the quality of this product and the lack of bonus material, no lyrics sheet, poor quality pressing and the poor remaster job (can't hear the difference between the original Canadian CD and this new 2 LP edition sound) make the use of the word "deluxe" as superficial here and just to sell more.

Yes, the original CD is a little bright, especially the drum sound, but at least you can hear the details of all the instruments they use on the record (they use a lot of different instruments on this album) and the vocals are great in the mix and don't sound like they are far away in the mix or out of place.

This vinyl edition sound not right to my ears, the sound is overall less bright for sure but you can't hear all the details from the original CD. The output level of the sound is very low so you need to crank up the volume of your amplifier to listen to those LP who is a bad thing since you hear more all the static, pops and clicks sounds. The sound is flat, dull and lack anything who make LP so much better sounding than CD. The vinyl quality is relatively poor (maybe it's my copy who is not ok?) but one of the LP is wrapped and the other one is not well centered so the overall sound is affected by those defects.

One of the best re-releases of a clasic album ever done. The bonus meterial on here is on the same level of quality as the origional release and some meterial is even better than the final product. Excellent album, wonderful bonus disc which is worth the price alone. Awesome band, awesome release!

I waited 20 years for this album to come out on vinyl. I now officially own the original CD, the remastered CD, and this Vinyl.
After 20 years to this day I still listen to this album. Using over 23 instruments to record the sounds of Edges of Twilight The Tea Party band managed to create a unique and timeless album that will leave you wanting more. A blend of rock, psychedelic rock, and musical influences from various cultures and times, this album is like none other. If you appreciate music this is a must listen.

Reading the prior reviews of the vinyl I wasn't expecting much, but must say I am not diss appointed in this release. The original 95 cd was a little too bright sounding, this vinyl release seems to balance the sound very nice while retaining dynamics. It's not the most silent vinyl, bu it's not intrusive with a good setup at all. A great album.

KInd of happy to finally own an official copy of this masterpiece. Unfortunately, I can't see or hear what is "deluxe" about it. The cover shows a very low resolution scan and the music sound as flat as can be. Whoever did the remasterization did a very poor job. I guess I will have to spend the big bucks on the original LP release.
