It was interesting that the new theory of consciousness being a product of electromagnetic energy produced by our neurons, came out the literal day I started this book.
But Keel goes off the road when he baselessly suggests that giants lived here before us and we are merely being controller by a computer that's deteriorating and is seeking a way to continue survival.

Product description
Review
"It is the UFO book in the 'revisionist' tradition of Dr. Jacques Vallee, Dr. J. Allen Hynek and Brad Steiger; that is, it accepts UFOs as real and tangible, not hallucinatory, but it rejects the extra-terrestrial interpretation of these beasties offered by most pro-UFO writers and almost all 'Contactees.'...Keel presents an enormous amount of evidence in only 200 pages, and he does not make comfortable reading...To those with really open minds, Keel is bracing, provocative and even amusing." - Robert Anton Wilson
About the Author
JOHN A. KEEL (March 25, 1930 - July 3, 2009) was an American journalist and influential UFOlogist best known as the author of The Mothman Prophecies. The least known of his tremendously influential works, The Eighth Tower was derived from material left out of The Mothman Prophecies. Keel's first book, Jadoo, and his breakthrough UFO book, Operation Trojan Horse, have also been reprinted by Anomalist Books.

A classical book about the paranormal. Keel shows that what we see of the univers is just a small part of a superspectrum.

There's a lot of balanced thought that has gone into this book. Many examples of alternative thinking with a clear, rational point of view trying to explain what goes on in the world of what we deem "the occult." From UFOs and aliens, to mediums and the possible similarities to mental illnesses. This book makes me think deeper. While I don't agree with every philosophy, it is excellent work.

Favourite keel book

Ive read a few keel books, this is my favourite and visitor's from space aka ( the mouth man prophecies). Your not told what to believe thats up to you, I been thinking along these lines for many years myself, not all strange stuff can be explained physically, some but not all, when you have researched the occult, religion, ufo's, polterguist's, quantum theories, light and sound waves, monsters ,fairys, phychic phenomenon, the list is endless but you know what I mean, it comes apparent the is allot of crossover in these subject's. Most people like to stick to one subject and declare they are an expect in that field and never see similarities between these subject's,not many researchers like John keel these days, he was never afraid to look into something just because it shounds too unbelievable to be true. To me an open mind means you dont dismiss something just because it sounds to wierd to be true, If your mind is open the I recommend this book, the mind sees what it want to see but who knows if what you are seeing is the real image infront of your eyes, questions just lead to more questions, I we realy ment to know the answers wial still and the physical plane, thats for you to work out, enjoy the book it will get you thinking.

An essential read for those interested in the paranormal. The historical and scientific research to backup the argument of a superspectrum reality is thought -provoking. Highly recommend. Brilliant and important.

Out of all the UFO and paranormal researchers-Keel was the closest to the truth. Most likely due to the mystical illumination experience he had as a teenager.
To all those winging about him not including references-go and check all his claims. I did and couldn't catch a lie or exaggeration.
