Update 07-26-2014: I figured out how to avoid the overflow by using a piece of aluminum foil to cover the top. The foil piece has to be large enough to cover the sides. The brewing takes longer as a result of this. I assume that the Cuisinart SS700 regulates how much water to pump if it detects that the drip is not going fast enough. Cleaner than before but still a bit of a hassle. I'm on cup number 5 at this point. I figure I'll use k-cups during the weekdays before going to work and use this for the weekends for now.
Note I would definatly not get the plastic version of the ecobrew as I could imagine the hinge breaking very easily.
Soon I found I couldn't have them function properly.
My coffee maker is Cuisinart 300C, and I use Starbucks Mocha.
The water does not flow through the filter, and escape from the top instead.
The attached pictures show the water does not flow thru the filter.
I sent email to Ekobrew in late August, and I have NEVER heard from them.
Terrible product, terrible service.
The Keurig is a great concept in terms of efficiency and convenience. It also brews coffee at an excellent temperature. My main issue with Keurig machines is the waste they generate. I cannot feel good about being a contributing factor toward the generated waste at the cost of convenience.
I purchased this, along with paper filters, so that I can enjoy the convenience of a Keurig machine while feeling better about not generating awful amounts of waste. I also like grinding my own coffee. This product gets the job done, but in my opinion, is nothing terribly special to write home about. You really have to experiment with it to find the method that works best. For example, since I use the paper filters inside this, I like to make sure the rim of the paper cup actually extends out of the closed lid. I have to press slightly harder on the Ekobrew lid to close it. I will place inside the paper cup one tablespoon of finely ground coffee, and I'll use the measuring spoon to compact it in the cup. I find that doing this helps to create more resistance for the water passing over the coffee. For example, if I have not compacted the coffee in the paper cup, I notice that the brewing process essentially creates a crater in the cup, allowing the water to easily pass through, thus creating a weak brew.
Reusable, sleek design, paper filters designed for this product, fits in the standard k-cup holder in the Keurig brewer, super easy to clean.
The cup WILL be hot after brewing (I mean it), you need to find its 'sweet spot' to achieve your desired brew, a little on the pricey side, can be the cause of a few minor drips of water escaping into the k-cup chamber inside the machine.
Overall, I'm happy I have this.

These were $18 for TWO when i bought them. Clearly they used a lower price to rack up reviews before jacking up the price to gouge people.Published 1 month ago by rdwtux
