Product Description

From International best-selling author Ker Dukey, comes a Dark, devastatingly sexy, romantic suspense series.
#1 best-selling series complete and ready for devouring.
This is an International Best-selling NA/ Dark erotic romance novel. Warning this book will mess with your mind. It's a dark, sexy, twisted romance novel. 18+ only. The follow up title Desolate is out now!

I am a brother
I am a police detective
I am a contract killer
I don't want to love
I don't want to feel
I don't want ... EMPATHY.

They say some people are born with decreased activity in the front central lobe causing them a deficiency in empathy. Maybe that's true about me but whether I was born this way or created in a moment of evil, empathy was something I didn't possess until her green eyes met mine in the mirror and I couldn't take her life.
I didn't want to feel, didn't want this woman in my life complicating how I lived but she was there at every turn. Sent to haunt me for my sins. Her light so bright she provoked a shadow from everyone she touched. When a job turns bad quickly altering my life forever I'm forced to feel. When nothing is making sense I'm forced to face truths I never would recover from. When life drowns you in its cruelty you don't know which way the current will drag you or who you'll become once you re-surface.

I was a daughter
I was a student
I was a victim
Did I have his love?
Did I make him feel?
Did I have his empathy?
When the actions of a soulless killer forces sorrow into my veins I never dreamed the man healing my wounds would be the one to leave the worst scar. His love would scar my soul. Scars are permanent; I will never feel the relief from them. Will I learn to live with them, remember why I have them and learn never to let him close enough to inflict more? Will I eventually cover them... like tattoos coating them with new memories, new love and new starts? I didn't know these answers because the pain was too suffocating, the only thing I knew was they will always be under the surface lingering. He had scars too, from his sins. There is nothing that can cover them, they were too deep, too ugly, too dark and they marked us both forever

I was gifted a copy for an honest review

To say that this is one of the hardest reviews to write would be an understatement! I refuse to divulge any information and with the twists that this story has I am at a loss… How do I explain that this is going to be one of you favorite reads this year. How do I tell you that to wait to purchase or wait to read this would be one of the biggest reading mistakes you can make! You need to read this; you need to be able to share those OMG moments, those WTF moments and those Holy Hell moments with your friends!

Melody has her life before her. A plan of college, falling in love, a career, what every girl her age has, she has dreams and aspirations. But her world collides with a monster. Too soon that bright future becomes dark and empty. Melody’s pain is written so vividly, so hauntingly that you can’t help but stand there in the darkness with her. Feeling the pain and the loss she feels. One night shattered her entire world. I watched it happen. I watched as Melody falls into a thousand pieces, I heard her agonizing screams of heartache and pain.

Blake is a beautiful monster that has been asleep for years until he meets Melody. A glimpse into his past shows us why and when the beast within him awakens. I felt the anger boil within Blake; I even understood his madness.

I was a prisoner to the pages of this book, needing and wanting more.

The impact that Melody and Blake have on one another, to be able to watch as they awaken a passion inside one another that can best be described as volatile. They had me giggling one minute and wet the next!

Empathy is so well written, I am once again in awe of author Ker Dukey.

Ker Dukey does it again!!! I'm already struggling to write this because with so many twists and turns it's hard to not spoil it. It's dark, sexy and a true rollercoaster read. We meet Blake, devoted brother, brilliant police detective and contract killer. He got off to a bad start in life, then at 18 it all goes even more downhill, turning him into the deliciously sexy, extremely messed up man he is today. And when i say messed up i mean....don't even try to figure him out because i doubt you'll succeed. He definitely isn't like everyone else and he doesn't make a good impression the first time he runs into his younger brother Ryan's classmate Melody. Not long after meeting the brothers, Melody goes home to her parents where tragedy strikes turning her life upside down. **I have to point out this part is extremely well written, it really pulls at the heartstrings and Ker writes it in such a way i felt like i was there watching it.** Broken and lost, she starts hanging around with Ryan and another classmate Sean. Now Ryan has some serious problems, as is evident fairly early on. Throw in a jealous step brother, a white room that made me pee myself laughing at, mind games and twists and turns you just won't see coming, i can guarantee this won't be what you're expecting. It will be so, so, so much better. Ker Dukey always writes a brilliant story but Empathy shows she means business. One of my favourite books this year, she definitely has a talent writing the darker romances, and i hope we get to hear more from Blake and especially Ryan.

Empathy, Feelings, The ability to feel, To go through what another goes through.
Lies and deceit and so much pain. In every corner, every turn someone is hurting. All as a result of one person, one person who can pull the strings of so many innocent people. Like a stage filled with marionettes and he controls Every. Single. Movement.
Can the strings be broken? Can you recover when someone makes you feel? When you would rather live out your days in a bland existence, unfeeling and emotionless toward everyone and to everything surrounding you.

Melody is a normal happy young woman attending college, when on a trip back home to visit her parents tragedy strikes leaving Mel in a living nightmare, lost and broken.
Pain and suffering. They are the only words I can use to describe Melody. Surrounded by distress. With only her best and only friend to turn to, Ryan isn't the best person to lean on, he has his own f***ked up life and depravities to deal with.
Or should she turn to Blake the detective given her case, assigned to look after her. To keep her safe, but the question is, keep Mel safe from Who? Does she really need another person in her life to lie and keep secrets from her?

so completely packed full of emotion I didn't know which way to turn. I had to have a few breaks while reading to process everything that was happening and everything I was feeling.
I was made to feel it all. Who to trust. Who to listen to. Who is lying. Who is safe. Sadness. Anger. Happiness. Hope.

Pure brilliance. Another masterpiece from the wonderful mind of Ker Dukey.

I count my lucky stars that I was fortunate enough to read Empathy, I am a huge fan of Ker Dukey's books and after reading Empathy I can add it to my "Best book I ever read" List. It's PHENOMENAL!
I have no clue how to even describe this twisted suspenseful gripping book. It is an amazing story and I loved every minute of reading it. It is so well written that it is captivating and vividly depicted. The story is told in the Point of view of the three main characters, Blake(the detective/Ryan's older brother), Melody(college student/Ryan's friend)and Ryan(Blake's baby brother) and as their story unfolds be prepared for an emotional intense and unexpected story line.
This is a" MUST READ" for anyone who loves to read a dark romance that is raw emotional powerful and nail biting. I wish I could express more of why I loved this story, but it is impossible without giving away spoilers, all I can say you will be adding Empathy to your "BEST BOOK I EVER READ" List too!
