This book is hard to categorize due to its subject matter, but it seems it's equally relevant to those interested in the environment, politics, business and the economy... or those who just want to find out more about an important issue that will become more and more urgent as time goes by. I didn't already know a lot on this topic, but I could still understand it, probably because of the clear way the author explained his points. I was pleasantly surprised by the section on personal energy plans; it gave me some ideas I hadn't thought of to not only save engergy and resources, but to save money as well (and feel good doing it, I expect). Would recommend the book for either enlightenment or research (the author cites many other sources, directing the reader to a wealth of other info on the topic, so might be good for students/profs).

HASH(0x9df36930) out of 5 stars Good summary of the hollow promise of H2. April 27 2008

A very complete and thoughtful analysis of the many problems and challenges in moving to a hydrogen economy and if we do; how it is likely to make things worse rather than better. The author then goes into a number of practical examples we can take now to reduce our reliance on oil and cut our emmissions.

The take away for me is that hydrogen is not fuel som much as a energy storage medium. There is no such thing as a hydrogen well. And while there is a lot of hydrogen locked up in water the hydrogen is not easy to access and will take a significant amount of energy to pull it out.

HASH(0x9d864c3c) out of 5 stars An eye-opening expose. June 20 2008
By John F. Spradley - Published on Amazon.com
This book opens one's eyes to the sheer propaganda of the hydrogen-as-fuel
supporters. As a retired Physic Professor I've followed this story since
the 1950s. I'm reassured to know the real story is beginning to surface.
