HASH(0xb4933de0) out of 5 stars The PERFECT resource for ghost hunters! Oct. 14 2005
By Ghost Girl - Published on
Format: Paperback

I love this book -- I've been ghost hunting for years now and I can't believe it took this long to see a directory come out that's written by the actual ghost hunters. I only wish there were more locations in my state, but I guess if the book covered every haunted location there is with this level of detail the book would be about a million pages. I also love some of the ghost photos with some of the entries!

HASH(0xb49336b4) out of 5 stars Hauntings around the globe? July 22 2007
By Veronica Rothwell - Published on
Format: Paperback
This book is a bit more informative with it's text and local addresses. The ghost lore and hauntings are better but i still think they need to devote a little more text involving more of the reported phenomena and hauntings that have taken place. Interesting text with the people who have investigated the haunted locations, but it needs more details to give the reader a bigger sense of the spook factor.

We are in this book so I might be a little prejudice, but it is REALLY a great source of information! As investigators, we love to read about the historical facts and ghostly inhabitants. This is a very entertaining book, and I highly recommend it!

HASH(0xb429b03c) out of 5 stars Starter's Guide to Ghostly Haunts and Spooky Locales+ Oct. 5 2008
By Magickal Merlin - Published on
Format: Hardcover
This is a great book to start with,if you are interested in researching haunted places. Most of the supernatural locales are from within the USA ,some from Canada ,the UK,Australia, and Europe. The book is over 350 pages long. Many list websites ,for further reading information.I felt that this encyclopedia on paranormal places offered a wealth of ghostly facts and haunted histories. It's more about spirited American dwellings, rather than other global haunts though. If you're fascinated by tales of strange energy forces, passing light orbs, and visiting poltergeists ; then read this informative book and make it a trusted reference on postmortem encounters.

HASH(0xb4168498) out of 5 stars Not complete enough to call it an "Encyclopedia" Feb. 27 2013
By Violin Goddess - Published on

I have this book, and have read it, but it's just not thorough or written in depth enough to imply that it be an "Encyclopedic" reference book. Don't get me wrong, it's a respectable book with great info, but I would suggest it be purchased as a part of someone's collection of books on this topic. Rather than a "Go to" book for the complete listing or understanding or the subject. For instance, better Encyclopedic book on Haunted Places or the subject of ghosts would be "The National Directory of Haunted Places" By Dennis William Hauck, The Encyclopedia of Ghosts and Hauntings by Rosemary Ellen Guiley,
