HASH(0xa24c40d8) out of 5 stars Fantastic Dec 26 2011

Finally, someone gets it right! This isn't "how I finally got pregnant, follow my footsteps and you will too" rather, "I know how bad it sucks to be in your shoes, here is my advise as to how to deal and keep your relationships in good standing". She is a christian and makes no secret of that in this book however, she is real. She lets you know it's ok to be a christian and not feel guilty for being confused about how "infertility" is part of Gods plan. She also hates the word INFERTILITY! I too wonder why the Doctor labels us in such a way. I have PCOS and my chart has infertility written all over it. I HATE that word! I am not infertile just challenged! I read this book via my Kindle Fire and have already loaned it to a close friend that means well but I know she feels at a loss for words and doesn't really know how to approach me sometimes. I know this book will be read over again by myself. It's like an old friend. I am considering buying the hard copy so I can make notes and highlight. She recommends several other books and gives lots of good advise. God bless Kristine Waits for writing this book and sharing her journey.

HASH(0xa210c8dc) out of 5 stars Not what you'd expect Jan. 1 2012

After reading all the great reviews, I thought I was going to love this book. But, it is badly written and with lots of religious overtones. I was expecting a timeline or story of the author's experiences, but instead it is a jumbled mess of odd advice with no real order or timeline to it. I did not come away feeling inspired or comforted, because there is no real talk of the actual treatment or process. Most of the book is just moaning about attending baby showers, which does suck but I don't feel that is the heart of infertility issues. Don't waste your money on this one, unless chatter about unrelated bible study groups moves you.

HASH(0xa214096c) out of 5 stars Great advice! Jan. 24 2011

I ordered this book because the title was cute and funny. I never expected it to be so religious though! I'm not opposed to that, it just seemed a little odd given the title.

It's filled with great advice for friends, family, and yourself. It's nothing I hadn't already reaqd from a few other self help infertility books, but the author had a great story and I really enjoyed reading it.

I'm definitely recommending this book to friends (both infertile and not).

HASH(0xa210c87c) out of 5 stars Helped me through some tough times April 3 2011

I was going through some difficult times and found this wonderful book!!! One issue that plagued me during my trials and tribulations was jealousy. To read about the author's experience and words of wisdom made me realize I wasn't alone. It was one of the most comforting things in the world and helped me concur that ugly feeling of envy. If you or anyone you know if having infertility issues, I highly, highly recommend this book.

HASH(0xa210c9a8) out of 5 stars Prescription for Comfort Jan. 21 2013
By Emily L. Brown - Published on

This book is not a prescription on how to get pregnant, nor is it a step-by-step tutorial on the author's fertility-challenged journey. She is our friend who is voicing all of the emotions most of us keep inside and are too afraid to say to our spouse/family/friends. This book has God in it which I love. It covers the same questions I've had in my heart. The same questions I've asked God. Why me? Why not me? Is it okay to go after fertility treatments and let "man" (doctors) take over/change/mess up God's perfect timing? Lord can you give me an extra shot of patience while I'm waiting for your perfect timing? (FYI: He doesn't give us patience, He gives us the opportunity to be patient.) This book is written by a fertility-challenged friend whom you've never met, probably will never meet, the type of friend you most likely do not currently have and yet she knows us better in this personal, intimate and SUCKY situation than anyone ever will. She's comforting, she's direct, she's true to herself and true to us in expressing the absolute raw emotions that go along with being fertility challenged. Although her struggle is not the same as mine, her fertility path is not one I've ventured down and her prayers have been answered x2, she is still my friend who gets me. This book will not tell you how to get pregnant. This book will hopefully help you understand and learn from the inner struggle that goes along with your physical struggle to conceive. The inner struggle from being fertility-challenged is difficult enough on its own and when you couple that with feeling like you're the only one out there who feels like you do, it's like an emotional bomb that's about to explode. This book is more like a support group whose leader will not allow any big fat idiots into "our" group who say stupid crap like, "Just relax," "Don't worry, just give it time," or "You don't have kids yet? Do you hate kids or something?!" She'll also be the first one to punch them in the face for you. She's our advocate, our helper, our comforter, our voice. Give this book a chance to help ease the blow of this awful circumstance by making you laugh, get teary-eyed and even yell, "YES, that's EXACTLY how I feel right now!" as you try to find your right path to parenthood.
