Wow!! Lyssa Layne has definitely become one of my favorite authors after loving each of the books I have read by her!!

Everybody's After Love is a story that revolves around Julianna Rossi (Jules) who was raised by her brother J.P. (Paulie) after their parents died when she was 12. When her brother gets engaged to Brianna (Bri) she knows that she will no longer be able to rely on her brother the way she always has.

Initially Jules is not a fan of "Barbie" Bri as she knows she is losing her brother but will time warm her heart when she knows her brother's happiness is on the line. Her brother has always put her first and now she knows she must return the favor to him.

Jules is known to always date loser guys but when Bri's brother Bentley shows up, maybe her life is about to change. The issue is that Bentley has secrets he is hiding from Jules and Paulie. When Paulie tells Jules to move forward with her relationship with Bentley she believes she has finally found true happiness! Then the secrets come out and Jules is shattered. Will Jules trust her heart again to Bentley or is it too late.

This book focuses a lot on forgiveness for yourself and for others. It touches on so many issues of guilt, trust and love!

I absolutely love Lyssa Layne's writing and I can't wait for her next book!

HASH(0xa2100714) out of 5 stars A Sweet and Poignant Novel Dec 9 2014
By julie whiteley - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Everybody's After Love by Lyssa Layne is a 2014 publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lyssa Layne has written a sweet and poignant novel that touches the heart and reminds us that sometimes loves finds us on it's own timetable and when we least expect it.

Julianna ( Jules) and her brother Paulie are exceptionally close due to the death of their parents and having only each other growing up. But, now Paulie is about to move forward with his life by getting married. Jules is not exactly thrilled with her brother's choice of a bride. When she meets the bride's brother though things get a little interesting, since he is not at all like any guy she has ever spent time with.
Bentley arrives to meets his future brother-in-law and his sister, Julianna. He has the idea Julianna may be giving his sister a hard time and he wants to see if he can soothe things over. He never thought in a million years that his life was about to be upended by Julianna and his unexpected feelings for her.

Jules character was damaged by tragedy and guilt and she never allowed a guy to get all that close to her. She never took her romantic relationships all that seriously, really. She was also suffering from a lack of confidence and must deal with a few phobias- mainly a fear of heights.

This story deals with a very realistic situation and while there is angst and misunderstandings, I could see how all of this could play out in real life. Often times we jump to conclusions about a situation, or judge people without all the facts, and in this case there were several times when a person had to find out the hard way that things are not always what they appear on the surface. I enjoyed the slow realization by Jules that she has been purposefully picking out losers to get involved with and it was time to stop and find a guy with depth, who took his feelings seriously and would offer her both respect and love.
Bentley is a nice guy through and through and I think everyone who reads this book will love him. Did he always do the right thing? No, but who does? Is he perfect for Jules? Absolutely!! Through Bentley, Jules begins to grow as a person, try new things, and face her fears, and embrace a real adult relationship, and moves out from behind her over dependence on her brother.

This is a pretty light romance with nothing too heavy or draining. I like a story like this one in which the characters grow and develop in real time. Things progressed at a natural pace and this method of writing created a feeling of being a part of the story as it unfolded and was quite absorbing as a result.
Overall I enjoyed the story and loved how things turned out in the end with everyone getting a much deserved happy ever after. 4.5 stars rounded to 5

HASH(0xa2100768) out of 5 stars Loved the story! Dec 3 2014
By Jackie F. - Published on Amazon.com

Julianna (Jules) Rossi has always relied on her older brother James Paul (Paulie). He raised her with the help of his friends Doug and Smitty after their parents died. Paulie is always there for her whenever she calls him for help.

Jules doesn’t have serious relationships. She likes to have “fun”, keeps the guys at a distance and makes sure she doesn’t fall in love with them. Paulie says that she always picks the same type of guy who is a loser and is only with for a few months.

Paulie gets engaged and Jules is immediately hurt and resentful of Brianna, her future sister-in-law. She is afraid of losing her big brother and doesn’t hesitate to show her dislike for Brianna right away. After a long talk with Paulie, Jules agrees to give Brianna a chance.

Jules meets Bentley, Brianna’s older brother at Paulie’s engagement party. There is an immediate attraction between them and they start to spend time together and have a great time. Bentley loves spending time with Jules. He has feelings for her that he hasn’t felt in a long time. There are things that he needs to tell her about, but is afraid to tell her and lose her.

I loved this story. The relationship between Jules and Paulie is very special, since Paulie has raised Jules since she was 12, he is more of a father figure than just her brother.

As the story progresses Jules even becomes close with Brianna. But after Jules finds out about Bentley’s secret, her world falls apart. Will they be able to mend their relationship and move forward, or will the secrets will be too much to bare.

This was a sweet story with very likable characters. The author did a wonderful job developing the storyline and keeping the readers interested. I absolutely loved the epilogue!

I look forward to reading Ms. Layne’s next book. My Favorite What If will be Paulie’s friend Smitty’s story.

HASH(0xa2100ba0) out of 5 stars A feel good romance Dec 3 2014

I received this book as a gift

Everybody’s After Love is the feel good romance you’ve been waiting for. It pulls you in with ease, the comedy and playfulness completely enthralling and with characters that will leave you with a cheesy smile permanently plastered on your face.

PROS:

Jules is a saucy, wonderfully open protagonist. No holds barred, she tells it like it is, turning up the snark and fire with every sharp little barb. She’s made of light and frivolity, she knows how to have a good time and that sunshine and sarcasm rolls off the pages. Jules is a guy’s girl, she doesn’t have girlfriends and while she’s not a tomboy, she likes to be passionate and have lots of steamy times without the weight of commitment. I adored that Jules was take charge, headstrong, and sassy but what made me really respect her was that she wasn’t afraid to admit it when she needed help, that she loved having people take care of her. I think so many times women feel they have to be strong, to fend for themselves, and Jules doesn’t think about this, when she needs a shoulder to cry on or someone to fix her dishwasher, she goes for it, and is rewarded by the guy friends who would do anything for her.

While this is a romance at heart, the best relationships were between siblings. The way Bentley and Bri and Jules and J.P. are together is precious and oozes love. The bonds are strong, they’re there for each other and understand all of their quirks. Their interactions are bubbly and honest, they flip between warmth and reprimand. The way they tease and laugh at each other is heart-warming and uplifting to read. This relationship didn’t get lost in the emotional drama of the others and throughout the story, was the foundation that showed how these amazing characters became the compassionate, kind people they did.

Flipping from Jules and Bentley’s POVs is brilliant. Seeing the relationship blossom from both sides was exhilarating. You can feel the build up, the magic, the emotional turmoil brewing. It’s a thrill ride that is made of adrenaline and the promise of a perfect romance.

Bentley is a sexy, Southern charmer. The way her works his hands and his muscles flex from years in the agriculture business is enough to make any girl swoon. Then, he opens his mouth and the flirty, straightforward way he expresses himself is so confident and alluring. He’s constantly touching Jules in small ways, crowding her space and basking in her presence. His adoration is clear and getting his internal dialogue about Jules will make you melt. Seriously. Sighs galore.

Sexual tension explodes off the pages. The chemistry is easy, natural, and tantalizing. It’s the little bursts of affection that reinforce their love.

CONS:

Kevin’s aggression was sudden and while it was terrifying and so slimy, it was unexpected and without hints. It felt random and forced.

The story alternates between Jules and Bentley’s perspectives. While it wasn’t hard to follow, I would have liked for the sections to be labeled. The shift it abrupt sometimes and though there is a pattern, it takes a moment to get oriented.

The cattiness between the bridesmaids, especially Nikki was unnecessary and cut into the storyline. It was focused on more so than the actual dramatic climax that changes everything.

HASH(0xa2100f60) out of 5 stars great read Nov. 28 2014

EVERYBODY’s AFTER LOVE By Lyssa Layne. I was given this book to review and even though this is not a book that I usually read I really did enjoy it. This story was funny, sweet and the right amount of attraction to make this relationship sizzle. This book is easy to follow and has a way of making you think of your one true love.

Jules world is about to be turned upside down when her brother announces that he is getting married. Her brother raised her after their parents died; she is used to her brother coming to her rescue. Will she loose her brother or will he still be there for her?

Jules never wanted to fall in love so she chose loser boyfriends who would bore her in a matter of months. Then she meets Bentley and sparks fly.
Jules and Bentley meet because their siblings are getting married. After spending some time together they think there is more to their relationship.
Bentley has not had time to date with everything going on in his life until he meets Jules. Soon Bentley can get Jules out of his mind. Bentley has been keeping a secret from Jules. That may or may not make him loose Jules.

Overall, the author did a great job with this one and pulled me in through the whole book. Even though it is a short read she did a great job at rounding out the story for the reader. I recommend this book you will enjoy it!!!!
