The Rage 4 is suitable for cutting ferrous metals (1/4 inch mild steel - Brinell Hardness HB 200-220), non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, uni-strut & reinforced cables), wood, MDF, lumber & reclaimed wood (wood with nails) plus plastics & composites.

When cutting metals, Evolution blades leave an instantly workable finish and produce virtually no heat, burrs or sparks. This allows the material cut to be handled quickly instead of having to wait for the metal to cool down, as required with abrasives.

The one thing I liked was that it was a cold cut saw.... i thought i liked the double bevel, sliding components to it, but the cheap plastic fencing, and super CRAPPY clamp barely hold the material well enough... moves AND slides into the blade so you wear the teeth more. I bought this saw for a little over $300 - now to see at $900!?!? Dont waste your money! It also has a 10” blade with a 1” arbour... trying to find replacement blades are IMPOSSIBLE. Except for the ones by evolution, which dont last for more then 50 cuts - waxed and maticulous break in and care... i wish amazon would give me my money back!

I would give this saw 0 stars if I could. This is absolutely the worst cold cut saw on the market. I am a proffesional certified fabricator who knowd how to use the product correctly. The base is flimsy and the calmping system is useless as it all flexes with the slightest pressure on the clampimg screw leading to unacurate cuts. The blades are total garbage and after 16 cuts with little to no pressure on the saw to cut they burn out. I wasted $60 on a new steel cutting blade only to have it burn out just the same. Called the manufacturer and they sent me the stainless steel blade got free......same thing 16 cuts and its totally dull. Dont waste your money on this kids toy you will be dissapointed. Will definately NOT RECOMMEND ANY EVOLUTION PRODUCTS PERIOD.

The tool comes with a heavy duty edge guide and is fully assembled out of the box. My first cut was on a half by two, aluminum bar. Not using extra pressure, the blade gave a smooth and fast cut. Other blades can be used, but must have a one inch arbor hole, or the appropriate reducing bushing. It has a solid cast metal base with good adjustment knobs. Just a good saw for the money.

AMAZINNNNNGGGGGGG!!!!!! IF I COULD GIVE 10 STARS I WOULD. Honestly its such an amazing and impressive tool for the price. Cuts steel so well and nice precise cuts. For the price I personally think you cant give lower then 5 stars. A must for any garage.Im just in love with it. So many possibilities.

PS this not a paid message from Evolution. Honest review as first timer trying this brand.

I was extremely disappointed with this saw. The fence could not properly hold a piece of tubing at 45 degrees, when I tried to tighten it the fence would tilt back off the main platform of the saw and not hold the angle it was set at. On the first cut puffs of smoke and flames came out of the motor. Maybe other people had better luck with this saw or other evolution products but I found it to be complete garbage and I am returning it. Might be ok for wood.

Works well enough.It is built with too much cheap plastic. The first time I accidently knocked it off the bench I gasped because I didnt think It would survive the fall without breaking or bending something out of alignment. Good for occasional use, but definitely not built to be knocked around.
