Product Description

Miller Spurlock might seem like a laid back man on the outside, but piss him off, or violate his trust, and he’ll show you the meaning of pain.

He was a Navy SEAL. He could kill a man a hundred different ways and not break a sweat.

He’s also a police officer and member of the SWAT team, which means he has the knowledge and skills to get away with it.

Rage boils in his gut when he witnesses what happens to the beautiful Mercy Shepherd during a SWAT op from hell that even his worst nightmare couldn't conjure up. And it surprises the hell out of him when she wants him, and him only, to comfort her in the aftermath.

Miller becomes the one shining beacon of light at the bottom of Mercy’s pit of despair.

The one man that could pull her through the rough days ahead and make her whole again.

And during her road back to herself, she realizes that she’s got the one thing she ever wanted in life…a hero to call her own.

This is book four in the series. Like the naughty girl I am I only read one of the previous books in this series. However I absolutely loved this story.

Miller oh Miller. Yes this is Millers story. He is all sorts of hotness. He's a hot sexy alpha that will do anything to protect who he loves. My heart went out to Mercy. I'm so happy she had Miller.

This is an amazing read. It will be included in a select few to stay on my kindle for a re read. Yes it's that good. I'm so looking forward to reading more of these sexy alphas. Loved it.

Mercy and Miller meet when his SWAT team is on site and witness Mercy's rape. Turns out the rapist was her soon-to-be ex and the SWAT team takes him down. But Mercy is traumatized by this rape which was on tv news in its entirety and asks Miller to take care of her. Of course he agrees and thus begins the strange love story between them!

Another great book from Lani Lynn Vale. Sometimes when an author writes about a group of alpha males the stories are the same man meets woman , woman is weak man saves woman.but every man and his woman has its own story. I love that about this writer.

HASH(0x9875bf24) out of 5 stars LOVED me some Miller & Mercy Me!! Aug. 7 2015

Oh, Miller Genuine and Mercy Me... I do believe you are my FAVORITE couple of the SWAT series so far!

Besides the awesomeness that is Miller and Mercy, you get to hear from so many of your other favorite Lani Lynn Vale characters, something I always look forward to in these books! You also get the requisite love-to-hate bad guys, some exciting danger/action scenes, some sexy goodness and did I mention a WWE smackdown between the Dixie Wardens/Spurlocks and some Hulk Hogan wannabes?

But back to my two new favorite people-

Mercy... I love her like I love all of the signed pretties on my bookshelf... and that is so damn much. She remained amazingly strong throughout one of the toughest situations a heroine has ever had to go through. I admired her courage, her kindness and her honesty. The crap she had to put up with was ridiculous but instead of dwelling on it, she grabbed it by the balls, twisted them suckers and moved on with the love and support of her family and friends.

Miller... I'm gonna throw it out there. I wanted to eat him up... just like my favorite white layered birthday cake. I truly saw no flaws in him. His determination, his protectiveness, his possessive streak and his unconditional love for Mercy made me want to go back for a second helping. I loved how gentle and sweet he was with her but I really became a drool monkey over him when he FINALLY turned into "Unleashed Miller". That. Was. Hot. And to know that he was holding it back until she asked for it... *swoon*

The paintball scene, the Chinese doctor, the banter between the Spurlock brothers... even with the sensitive subject matter, there were plenty of fun moments in the story. And those chapter titles... I still love them to pieces and look forward to them in each and every Lani Lynn Vale book.

What happened with Foster... totally unexpected and just... W.O.W. He is definitely set up to have a great, drama-filled book, complete with a spitfire woman! And the possibility of revenge (maybe, just maybe somehow)... I LOVE it already! Bring on Charlie Foxtrot!!

Another great story by LLV !! It starts off with a BANG and leaves you satisfied and anticipating the next book , which I know will be fun !!

We meet Miller earlier in the series and lets just say he has a few memorable moments , dog barking and wall crashing come to mind !! Now we see him in action on SWAT and as a very caring and amazing man. Maybe I had my doubts but at the same time I knew he would have his time to show us what a great guy he is. Mercy is in the midst of a horrific event and I honestly don't know how she goes on. I mean yes she knew the guy and yes she feels she asked for it or wanted it BUT regardless the way things went down were just horrible. Part of me can get on board with her almost immediate desire for Miller yet a small part of me wants to go to the reality of a situation like this and say no way , nobody could be this ready for more after an incident like that. Again this is a story , escape from reality and in that sense it is perfect. We have the major drama to start , the constant annoyance throughout and then the last horrific event that kind of solidifies relationships. Miller and Mercy have no real issues with each other or with starting a relationship. There is no cheating or angst or dragging of feet when it comes to emotions. They seem almost too simple, but I like that. You can enjoy them and know that your worry comes form a different place. Edge of your seat but never having to question their bond. I like that the drama , heartache and struggle has nothing to really do with their relationship but more about Mercy's past.

We have some fun , some great sex , some catching up with a few peeps. I love the mentions and appearances of our faves from the other series. I wouldn't say this story goes too deep into the issues , it gives just enough to keep you hooked and makes it an easy read , perfect for a day in the sun relaxing while swooning over the fine guys of SWAT !! The ending is sweet and I love the closure we get and of course as I mentioned I love the lead in for whats to come.

HASH(0x991923fc) out of 5 stars Such Great Characters, but lacking consistency in plot. Aug. 11 2015

Not my favorite. I kind of chalk it up to "Double Tap" kind of all over the place and no real substance to it. I loved the last book, gave me my Lani Lynn Vale fix I like to get.

I loved Miller. I loved Mercy. I especially loved seeing the appearance of Sam from her first book. Which is why I really love her novels, the series may be separate but all the characters are somehow tied to each other. I felt like the story line itself was very inconsistent and things would jump randomly. There was a lot of continuity issues and I think that's because of the constant jumping around. After they consummated their relationship it was assumed that they were still consummating but then while they're on vacation they decide to take their relationship to the next level...I also felt there was a lot of build up towards moments that you expected to take the story somewhere. Like they were worried about what people in the town would think about them being pregnant...and then nothing even went there with that.
One moment that really bugged me, I can't explain why, was at the end when they were driving home after the auction and in Mercy's thoughts she was complaining about how Miller is never rough with her, and always gives excuses when she asks for it. Then when she blows up at him, he says all she had to do was ask (as if she never did before)...she least that's what her inner thoughts said. It was those types of inconsistencies that didn't help the book.
For some reason the chapters would end on a note that something was going to happen and nothing did or was really poorly explained in the next, like a recap. To me it was kind of pointless to make it seem bigger than it was if it wasn't going to be given proper attention to.

Another thing that I love about Vale's books while it may seem over the top, are the crazy moments the women sometimes get into or behave. They're fun, they're loose and not proper and I just didn't see that anywhere in this story. Same with Double Tap which probably didn't help my opinion of that book either. I loved that we got to see the bond of brothers between the Spurlock men.

This story had great potential, just could have been better.

HASH(0x99192294) out of 5 stars Review from Abibliophobia Anonymous Book Reviews Aug. 14 2015

OH MY GOD. I don’t even know where to start with this review. I have loved each one of these books. These are must read books! Lani Lynn Vale is on my must read list. You don’t have to read these in order, but I highly suggest that you do so that you’ll have the stories on the other characters.

Mercy Shepherd’s story starts out horribly in the first chapter. Being beat and raped while the news filmed. Luckily the swat guys were there. And Miller became her hero.

Mercy is far from a weak character. She had her moments, but who wouldn’t after going through what she did. Anyone that was watching t.v. that day saw what happened to her.

I love how she got Miller at the start. He actually surprised me.

Miller was not what I expected, and I loved it! He is an amazing man, that’s for sure.

“Having sex with you doesn’t disgust me. It makes me hot. It makes my palms burn to even think about them running over your silky, smooth skin. But I don’t think you’re ready. I don’t think you’ll be ready for a long time. I’ll wait for you. This, this is something good, and it has the potential to be something much more than just a friendship. I don’t want to taint that by moving too fast.”

Like I said, he’s amazing!

Just like in all the previous books, the quotes at the beginning of each chapter had me cracking up.

“The only ‘B’ word you should ever call a woman is beautiful. Why? Because b****** love to be called beautiful.”

“If it’s hot, wet, sticky, and not yours…don’t touch it.”

Now their story isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. There are some scarey situations. And Foster, I really can’t wait for the next book, Charlie Foxtrot.

I love how Miller kept with the tradition of the names also.

This is a great read and a great series. I went to bed, fell asleep for about twenty minutes, but Miller woke me up and I just had to keep reading.

You must read these awesome books!
