HASH(0x9ea357f8) out of 5 stars Farberware Classic Stainless Steel Swivel Peeler Jan. 31 2014

I have one that is so old I can't remember when I got it and it was getting a bit wobbly. Unlike some other recent replacement purchases, the quality is still here, maybe even better.
HASH(0x9ea084f8) out of 5 stars Difficult to hold and use Dec 27 2013
By Texas Rose - Published on
This Farberware peeler and bean slicer (really?) is difficult to use. The handle is made so that it had finger rests where it appears one would hold it so that fingers are in alignment with the curved shapes on the handle. However, when I did this, my little finger aligned with the hold in the handle, and the ring finger aligned with the blades of the bean cutter…so not a good design.

Also, the blade itself no only swivels, but also moves up and down in the handle making the job of peeling even more difficult.

And what is with the hole in the handle? Have you ever seen anyone hang a peeler? And a "bean slicer"??? Really??? What a waster of materials. It is faster to cut beans with a knife as a group than to slice one at a time.

Very poor design overall.
HASH(0x9edaebc4) out of 5 stars Excellent Kitchen Tools Dec 11 2014

Farberware, which is normally known for its cookware, has been making good kitchen utensils for a number of years. In fact, I prefer Farberware peelers over some of the more expensive ones I've tried. Even over the ceramic peelers, which are supposed to be so good. The Farberware peelers always feel comfortable in my hand, which makes the task easier and faster. Peeling vegetables and fruits is not a favorite kitchen task, but the tool makes the job tolerable. I would have paid this price for the peeler alone, and the paring knife was icing on the cake. Excellent purchase for me.
HASH(0x9ea33ae0) out of 5 stars Flimsy junk July 30 2013
By Kat D - Published on
Bought this the other day for a few bucks. Took it out of the package to peel a butternut squash. I couldn't figure out why it was getting harder and harder to peel. Stopped to look at the blade, and it was completely distorted. Threw it in the garbage and finished the old-fashioned way, with a knife.

I'm sure China makes some nice products. Too bad none of them ever make their way to the US.
HASH(0x9e8da558) out of 5 stars I removed the cutting blade and it is a great hook! Nov. 19 2015

I actually bought this to use as an adaptive device for a family member with a neuro disease that makes his hands weak. I removed the cutting blade and it is a great hook!!! useful for grabbing things, opening the diswasher and other closed things. The handle is comfortably large and easy to grip. My guess is it works just fine as a peeler too!
