Sarah E. Ball is a blogger, speaker, and mom of five children who uses her platform to minster to people suffering from crippling anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and depression. She now regularly appears as a host and guest on several national television programs, thankfully learning early on that over-sprayed high hair doesn't fare well on the TV screen. There are a lot of things I loved about this book, I will only mention a few here.
One, Sarah's own journey is incredible and it's clear that she has,at one time, suffered from anxiety and is now on the other side. It's hopeful, it's real and for those who suffer with anxiety, you're nodding your head and saying, "Yep, that has totally happened to me, too." I completely trusted the author's advice because she was vulnerable with her own story.
Two, the steps to freedom, laid out in 21 day steps, was very easy to implement. The book advises you to go at your own pace. I didn't go through this in 21 days. I took longer, but it was lead by God on each step. I found I was reading the right chapter for the next thing I was facing. I'm glad I bought the hardcover book because I had chapters marked that I could flip to easily when in my car waiting for my kids or at work. Each piece of advice worked! The most amazing part was how quickly I could get over a panic attack or how quickly I can now change my frame of mind using Sarah's methods.
Three, this book is full of scripture. Worshipping God is at the heart of this book and it was refreshing to see a good mix of God's truth paired with practical strategies that put God's word into action right away.
I have a new understanding of the purpose of fear. It's sounds funny, but I'm not afraid of fear anymore. I'm thankful for it. And now I understand how to draw closer to God when it shows up. This book not only has helped me create a tool box of resources for overcoming anxiety, it introduced me to a side of God's character I never knew before.
If you struggle with anxiety, this book is your answer to understand and breakthrough at anxiety. if you have a spouse who struggles with anxiety, this is an excellent resource to understand what they are going through and how to encourage them.

She then describes her daily panic attacks, depression, and attempts to hide bleach up high so she would not drink it, her fear of crowds and going outside, and how she felt that she should be able to control her anxiety and depression by herself without medication or counseling.
“We must begin to understand that there is a powerful connection between our thoughts, our physical habits, and our relationship with God.
Without a healing attention to all three—body, mind, and spirit—we will never fully recover, because God created us as one.
When I fully grasped this truth, that healing must take place throughout my whole self, I began to focus on whole healing—all facets of my being: my body, my mind, and my spirit.
I soon began to experience total healing through the miraculous power of prayer, the nourishing support of nutrition and exercise, and the empowerment of taking my thoughts captive.
That discovery led me to a path of freedom, and that freedom has led me to you.”
The author encourages the reader to have a physical checkup to make sure that there are no physical conditions causing your anxiety or depression.
She shares how she read a book about panic attacks by Dr. Claire Weekes which tells the anxiety attack sufferer to go all of the way through it, and not to fight it, and it will pass - she tried this approach and it worked!
You will have to read this book for yourself to find out how the author is living a totally different life than she ever could have imagined!
