Sometimes the only way to find your strength is to see how much you can surrender.

Fiercely independent and newly single mom Emmaline Hart has spent the last thirteen years putting everyone’s needs before her own. Secretly afraid that her ex-husband’s assertions that she’s too uptight are right, Emma nonetheless keeps her life, and her emotions, firmly under control, fearful of getting hurt again. However, when she meets the dangerously attractive Beckett Black on a job assignment, the way his casual touch sends her pulse racing forces her to acknowledge her growing need to move beyond her fear. When Beckett offers her a job writing the memoir of his father, a renowned cancer researcher, Emma jumps at the career opportunity and the chance to get to know Beckett better.

Emma spends her days with the renowned doctor, who has spent his career studying a plant in the Amazon that has the potential to cure cancer, and her nights with Beckett, who slowly pushes past her fears and breaks down her barriers, introducing her to a passionate and forbidden love that surpasses her wildest fantasies. As the doctor’s story of secrets and cover-ups unravels, so does Emmaline’s view on everything she thought she knew about herself and the power of surrender.

"My “must read” author shelf just got fuller! Hot sex, characters and storyline had me wishing this story would not end. "Move over Christian Grey and Gideon Cross. I mean it when I say forget other similar series, this is a book that's in a small exclusive club that would win a fight hands down if put against any of the big sellers." Shauna, Amazon Customer

"This book was amazing!" Book Boyfriend Hangover

"This book definitely gives you the hot, dominant alpha male and equally sizzling sex with some bdsm thrown in. Seriously, you maybe should keep the fire extinguisher close. There is emotion, dialogue and love, as well as, a bit of intrigue. I was hooked right away." Riverina Romantics

"This, faithful readers, is one fantastically hot piece of erotica." Vox Libris

"The deep emotional bond and the enthralling reality of the characters are the definite strength of this story." The Romance Reviews

Review of Fearless (Black Brothers Trilogy #1) by Brynley Bush

Review done for Hooked on Books

4 out of 5 stars

Emmaline Hart is now on her own after 13 years of marriage. He ex has married a much younger woman now and Emmaline feels like she is inadequate.

During an interview at a medical clinic, she meets the gorgeous Dr. Beckett Black. She is demanding and controlling, something Emma has no experience dealing with.

Beckett is a typical Alpha male. He needs control. When he sees the beautiful Emma, he is mesmerized. He wants her and will stop at nothing to have her.

Shy and inexperienced, Emma is surprised to learn that she loves how Beckett is with her. He has unleashed a sex goddess.

I really liked Emma and was glad to see her come out of her shell. Beckett is quite the catch and they are perfect together.

This story is great. It was very interesting with the cancer research end of it and the sex scenes are quite hot!

I can’t wait to read about the other Black brothers as well!

4.0 out of 5 stars This one will melt the polar ice caps Nov. 16 2014
By Vox Libris - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This, faithful readers, is one fantastically hot piece of erotica.

Freelance writer Emmaline and doctor Beckett meet for strictly business reasons, but Beckett is drawn immediately to her. She's attracted to him as well, and the two begin a romance. At the same time, Emmaline begins helping Beckett's father with his autobiography.

It quickly becomes clear that Beckett is a Dom, although Emmaline has no idea what that means (fortunately, she has a BFF who fills her in). After a marriage that brought her no sexual satisfaction, Emmaline is convinced that she cannot achieve - er - release, something she blurts out to Beckett early on in their courtship. He informs her that he will prove her wrong.

And OH MY GOSH does he ever.

Strap on your vibrators, girls, because this book? THIS BOOK IS SCORCHING HOT.

Beckett introduces Emmaline to all sorts of experiences she did not think possible, as well as things she didn't think she could feel. She's a divorced single mother of a thirteen-year-old daughter, for goodness sakes. Isn't that part of her life over? Thanks to Beckett, she finds out otherwise.

A subplot involving Beckett's father that provides the dramatic conflict, but it doesn't feel as if it were slapped on or forced. The ending is a bit overwrought, but again, it fits.

What's nice to see is a woman who is nearing her forties who blossoms sexually, and the man who brings her there and finds her sexually compelling. What a lovely change from young girls getting shown a thing or two by rich guys. Instead, we have two people who are intellectual equals, coming together sensually and sexually. Emmaline doesn't lose herself completely; she remains a devoted mother to her daughter, and she occasionally pushes back at Beckett's bossiness. Nor does Beckett tone down his act for her. Too often in BDSM erotica, the Dom pulls back, with that side of him nearly diminishing.

Not so here.

Beckett remains very dominant, very possessive, and very controlling when it comes to rocking that headboard.

There are some weaknesses. For one thing, there are chunks of dialogue that feel as if they were ripped straight from other erotica. "I want you to be sore for me" is awfully familiar, isn't it? Wearing the ben wa balls while at a social outing? We've seen that before, haven't we? The removal of panties while at dinner? Been there, read that. Thankfully - and I do mean, THANKFULLY - there is no inner goddess or any of that mess.

For all of the "where have I read you before" moments, though, this is a superbly sexy read. It's also the first in a series, and let me say that I can't wait to start the next one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fearless – simply awesome! Nov. 15 2014

Oh how I love Dr. Black! Undeniably hot!

I loved the Amazonian story line “book within a book”. Very interesting and fresh. While having a typical development of any romance novel, Fearless kept me hooked throughout the story. I wanted to know more, to read all the way through and know what happens next. The way the author webbed the Amazonian rain forest story into the main story line was smartly done – having the main character, Emmaline, write the doctor’s memoir was brilliant. Emma’s naivete & Beckett’s ability to awaken her desires and pull her out of her shell was a sizzling read! I can’t wait to read the next books in the trilogy to find out more about the other two brothers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Irresistible New Trilogy Nov. 7 2014

This book will leave you breathless and waiting anxiously for the next release. Emma, Beckett and the writing are equally smart, sophisticated and sexy. Bush creates a story worth sinking your teeth into. A book I found irresistible and impossible to put down. I found myself torn between rushing through at breakneck speed just to see what twist might be around the next corner and slowly savoring each delicious scene. I haven't found myself chasing a series with this much intensity since I was a high school kid eagerly anticipating the next Fern Michaels installment. But this is no book for adolescents. Bush writes for adults, with enough wit and heat to keep the most adventurous reader holding her breath. Settle in with a glass of wine and a little time to yourself. You will be both satisfied and left longing for more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Already on the second read! Nov. 4 2014
By Debbie Richardson - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Beckett will have to go on record as one of my favorite heros ever. I wanted to be Emmaline, and to be the focus of his attention. Because boy does he ever give her his attention. A mature man who knew how to sexually take care of a gal, but had room to learn more about how to emotionally take care of a gal, and didn't shy away from learning, either. I loved that he didn't let the typical romance scenario of "huge misunderstanding between us but come hell or the end of the book we won't talk about it" get in the way. He forced conversations, and talking about it helped both him and Emma see each other a little more clearly.

I can't say I loved that he didn't do that as well in a critical later scene in the book, but he acknowledged later that he did know better and was realizing that himself, it just took him a bit to get there. So he can acknowledge he made a mistake, and reinforced that in several places in the story. What a way to go straight to my heart, besides all his other tricks! I think that's what I loved about him most.

Emmaline, thank gosh was NOT a too stupid to live heroine. She was really very clear about who she was and who she wanted to be, and we worked thru her journey to move from one to the other right along beside her. I liked the insight she had about herself, and I loved her sense of humor. She brought the "real world" back in to the book when it needed to be. One of my favorite scenes happened early on in the book, and this is not a spoiler. But I loved it when he orders a drink for her without asking and she just blurts out "hey, that's great....." etc - I won't give away the punch line, but she just nails him for taking her for granted. She's no pushover, she wants to play, she wants to give and receive but she balances that with maintaining who she is.

I loved so many of the conversations between Beckett and Emma, felt the author did a fabulous job with the dialogue, so much that I had to go back and read it again to pick up on this some more, because frankly on the first read thru I was devouring the sex scenes. Hot, hot, hot, and I read some things in this book I hadn't even thought of before, which truly surprised me! The author did a really great job of making me feel that sexual tension right along with Emma, and I loved how it added to the story. Any author who can give me great talking scenes and great sex scenes in the same book gets a five star from me. Kudos!

Can't wait to read Griffin's story.

Once I started reading Fearless, I couldn't put it down. What starts as a friendship quickly moves to a beautiful love story. Beckett and Emma truly love each other and yes, there are some steamy sex scenes🔥🔥If you liked 50 Shades, you'll love Fearless. I can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy ..
