I ate that way for years and had female issues. Lots of veggies means not enough body fat to sustain a pregnancy (on the chart, my BMI was normal, but I have more muscle, therefore less body fat). When a doctor recommended more meat and more dairy for the extra protein to help another condition, I gained weight (enough to push my BMI above normal range, but still OK because of the extra muscle mass) and my female issues resolved. So this diet may NOT help every woman.

Just looking at this well-designed, easy-to-navigate cookbook inspires me to eat more healthfully. The introduction lays out the goal: Here's what you should eat; this is why; and here are the tools required. Then the recipe section shows how to get there: Ingredient list and time it will take; clear, simple instructions; and final dish and step-by-step illustrations. Easy. Recipes range from breakfast to dessert, with everything in between. The text beginning each section is positive and encouraging, making me feel as if the authors really care about my well-being. I love this book.

Both of us are following this diet now. Husband has lost weight. I know that is not the right thing for fertility, but he was overweight and now his blood pressure is normal instead of prehypertension. We are healthier overall. I have so much more energy. I no longer feel like I have zero energy mid-day. I still get a little tired here and there, but then again, I am also staying up too late too. This book has changed our lives for the better. No baby yet, but to be fair to this book, the doctors say our male factor situation cannot be helped by diet anyway. I know we will be in a better situation overall by being healthier, so we continue eating on this diet. We have been eating this way now for 1.5 months! The only downside is eating organic is much more expensive. However, when I think of all the dollars we used to spend eating out at restaurants, I think we are still spending the same amount but getting better food!

Not sure why but I was surprised at how many of these recipes I'd use not just while trying to get pregnant but anytime. The book is full of easy to use recipes of tasty healthy food. I guess I was expecting some weird concoctions to help with fertility but this is a terrific healthy eating cookbook that will get anyone on the right track. I've tried several recipes and have liked them all.

In addition, I was delighted to see that the research on nutritious eating has been throughly considered. Take the stress out of eating healthy. Buy this book and enjoy eating and cooking again.
