This is a great songbook with some lovely tunes to work through. The layout is nice and clear and its easy to follow. I unfortunately did not read the first reviewer's write-up and bought the 70 page version from eBay. I had to come to Amazon to get this version as I was really after the version of Bert Jansch's Angie that is in this book, but not in the other.

This is also much better value for money, as it is actually 2 songbooks that have been combined into one volume.

Dieses Buch ist keine Analyse über die Spielweise verschiedener Künstler. Es ist eher eine Sammlung von Lieder stammend aus den 30er-50er Jahren; es gibt wenige moderene Stücke zum Nachspielen. Aber man sollte zuerst wissen, das diese Methode ursprünglich in den 60er Jahre geschrieben wurde. Die meisten Lieder sind amerikanische "country" Lieder. Es gibt aber ein Stück von Bert Jansch sowie John Bosco Mwenda (ein afrikanischer Musiker), das echt gut klingt. Die Stücke sind relativ einfach zu spielen. Ein CD ist nicht beigefügt.

Overall, a lot of great fingerpicking material. I've been learning the songs and having a great time following along. It's easy to find the recordings he references on YouTube to get an idea about the style and tempo.

However, I've found a number of errors so far in the book. I've found inconsistencies between the standard notation and tablature, as well as errors that don't line up with the actual recording (melody errors, not accompaniment differences which is common in this style). One song has some of the words cut off, or has the A, B and C sections labeled incorrectly. These can usually be fixed by listening to the recording and adjusting the notation.
